James Blackman, Belle Glades QB.
Belle Glade quarterback James Blackman came in and made a big impression. Coming into the day FSU had no intention of offering Blackman, but that’s the thing about camp, sometimes there’s a kid or two that makes it impossible for FSU to ignore him. Blackman did that today. His performance this morning was as good as any quarterback we’ve seen this summer at FSU.
I’m not saying he’s going to be offered, but I do know there will be a long discussion about him when FSU goes back and finalizes their evaluations.
FSU offered him today

-I know at this point he has nothing to do with Miami, but a few posters here was wanting to offer him plus Quantino Allen so just a small update (yes, I know we are done at QB recruiting for 2017). Would not want Quantino + Blackman at FSU, Belle Glades kids are usually the real deal.

Xavier Williams, Chaminade-Madonna Prep WR

Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna Prep wide receiver Xavier Williams hasn't gotten much face time with Miami wide receivers coach Ron Dugans early in the recruiting process, but the 2018 Top247 prospect says that he can tell that he's already a fan of the Hurricanes ace recruiter.

Williams, who was at Miami this past weekend for Mark Richt's inaugural Paradise Camp, said at Tony Sand's DBU on Wednesday that he sees Dugans as more than just a coach on the field.

"I love Coach Dugans," Williams said. "We have talked. He's more of a mentor for me. I think he's someone that could teach me life lessons, because, you know, football doesn't last forever. He has just been telling me how to handle my money and stuff like that."

It's a unique pitch for Dugans, but one that appears to be working.

Williams said that he likes what he has seen thus far from Miami even though his parents want him to look at other schools around the country.

"My parents don't really want me to go to Miami, because they say it's too close. But every time I go, I feel like I'm home. It's like family. You can't really turn down Miami," Williams said. "I think [Coach Dugans] away from football and home can be like that second dad, and that really plays a big role."

While that all sounds positive form the Hurricanes, the rising junior says that his recruitment remains open. He camped at Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida back in June and added that he would like to see Alabama and Florida before he starts practices on August 1.

Still, even with the other schools in play, Miami made more than just an impression on him with alums like Ray Lewis and Antrel Rolle working the Paradise Camp.

"That's another thing," Williams said. "The alums. It's a big one. Hurricanes look out for Hurricanes and my mom was just telling me about all the players and how almost all of them have their money because of the life after football thing."

Williams (6-0, 180) had 617 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns this past season. He's pegged by 247Sports as the No. 68 overall prospect in the class of 2018 and the nation's No. 3 ranked athlete.

Christopher Henderson

Florida will meet with one of Miami's top commitments on Thursday night.

Miami Columbus Top247 cornerback Christopher Henderson told InsideTheU that he's set to host track coaches from Florida for an in-home visit with his parents.

Henderson, who was part of a Columbus 4x100 relay team that finished fourth at the FHSAA Class 4-A state finals this past spring, said that the Gators are offering him a chance to play football and run track in college. He also said that he will attend Florida's Friday Night Lights event this weekend after speaking with Gators assistant coach Randy Shannon.

Miami hasn't talked to Henderson about being a two-sport athlete for the Hurricanes, but it should be noted that he was in Coral Gables on Tuesday for an unofficial visit after missing this past weekend's Paradise Camp for a team camp at Alabama.

Henderson (6-1, 175) is ranked as the No. 13 cornerback in the country and the nation's No. 106 overall recruit.

Im kinda getting a bad feeling about this class. Henderson going, Donaldson going, missing on mcfarland & felix, missing on juedy & smith. I hope im wrong.

Henderson will be here, let him enjoy the process. He was one of the biggest factors in being such a front runner for Bandy. Once Bandy makes it official we should be fine

The longer it takes bandy to commit. The more unnerving it becomes. 😳

He just decommitted. Give him a little time... Anything less and he would be ****ing all over a pretty decent coach and school. His HS coach is going to make him pump the brakes unless he never wants OU to offer another one of his kids.

I know this can mean absolutely nothing but I saw him this morning at a Dunkin donuts and he had UM bands on his wrists. And then I felt like a creep for even recognizing him. Btw he's a lot bigger than what I thought, his 40 times are pretty crazy for his size.

True but it's like Obama running around with a bible and saying he is a christian and loves America.

Why must somebody bring up politics on a football board.
