Cornell with one of the first bigger surprises beating Duke 11-8. It was 10-0. Duke kicked it around a bit and dug a big hole.

Barring an upset of Vandy tomorrow, UConn is going to come in next weekend at 1-8.
They have played a very good schedule out of the gate. It’s always a well coached team that will not quit and they compete for nine innings. I sense we will have our hands full. Penders and Josh MCDonald are good coaches but looks like they missed on some pitching evals this year as their pitching has been very suspect early. Hope our bats wake up.

Yeah I would ignore their record, it's going to be a difficult series for sure unless the bats show up.

I actually changed my season prediction due to seeing a few more teams play and looking at some results. I had us at 10-20 in conference. I bumped it go 13-17. I think it’s more just hoping the lower end and middle of the conf is where we are and sneak out a few more than expected. Looking forward to seeing our guys likely try to match Wake homer for Homer and it backfiring since they have a bunch of gym gorilla’s.

Last season, we weren’t as bad as our record. We lost a lot of close games plus Cyr Torres and Walter’s were all injured and did not play in the final weeks of the season.
