It appears so, yes. Walker was a .9924 composite rating and Bethea is .9947Would Bethea be Canes highest rated recruit ever?
Still too early to tell because ratings/rankings can change over the course of the high school season. However, as of right now he looks to be the highest rated recruit Miami has ever gotten. Off the top only 5-star guys I know that signed with Miami coming out of high school were Darius Rice, Dequan Jones, and Lonnie Walker. Dewan Hernandez (fka Huell) was a McDonald's All-American so he might have also been a 5-star.Would Bethea be Canes highest rated recruit ever?
Will definitely have a shot, considering he's currently sitting in the top 10 of most 2024 national rankings. This would be amazing.
Is Bethea a 1-and-done player? I assume so.

DeQuan was a 5 star? Not doubting you at all but .... ludicrous for a Guard/Wing who couldn't hit the proverbial broadside of a barn to be able to get that high a rating. The raters must never have seen him do anything but drive and dunk.Still too early to tell because ratings/rankings can change over the course of the high school season. Seems like a poorly kept secret at this point fellas
Two top 50 guys within the last few weeks and he goes quietPatiently waiting for @Da_Lucky_One to hop into the thread saying that Bethea would be unwise to pick Miami because 'Larranaga doesn't play freshman'. Man what a dweeb.

Technically, he was ranked #17 and was a 4-star, but he would have been a 5-star by today's standard. The data on Darius Rice is a little sketchy, but he, too was ranked in the top 20. Bruce Brown and Lonnie Walker were both ranked in the 20's.
