You know, this form has a lot of knowledgeable baseball people . Everybody well most everybody, has been all over JD this year.
The timing of him coming in was horrible worst of which he could not get any last minute superstar portal miracles to jump in, etc. etc. a lot of things went against him .

Take a look at this ….
On June 22, 2022, Jarrett was named the head baseball coach at Florida State University.[13]
In Jarrett's first season as Head Coach for Florida State they finished the season 23-31 (9-21 in Conference Play) snapping Florida State's consecutive NCAA tournament appearance streak at 44 straight years and posting their first losing season in program history.

…..So it’s widely known about Jarrett’s inaugural poor season at Fsu, but I bet he didn’t get the bashing during his first year in that this forum and social media seems to unload on JD.
Calm down really .

No. No reason to be calm. JD =/= Link.

While JD was here (2 decades) fumbling through building a pitching staff, Jarrett was taking ND to Omaha.

Yes, agreed, but his first three years as a head coach were losing seasons.

Jarrett’s first 3 years were at a school he had no previous ties to and in an era where nil and free agency didnt exist.

I think it’s a fair point that he didn’t have a ton of time to get in on the free agency bonanza. But he’s been here 20 years and has a major role in what is already on the roster. He’s part of the problem.

The University of Miami head baseball is not a job where you learn the ropes, or at least shouldn’t be.

The comparisons to JD’s first year and Links have already been discussed at length. Two completely different situations.

Their admin learned their lesson in football, why not baseball? The U should NEVER have a HC who is learning on the job.

Someone explain to me how Miami is supposed to compete in baseball. 11.7 scholarships to share at a school with tuition and board at $93k?

Dinkel resigned at Southeastern. Wonder if USF got him.

I’ll be interested to see if it’s him how he does. Has had an unreal talent advantage and ability to get anyone he wants at Southeastern.
