Another dog walking at the likes of an SEC foe.
Another dog walking at the likes of an SEC foe.
All 13 players from last years team are gone. Cal had a clean slate and brought over half of Kentucky. They’ll be big. Johnell Davis from FAU just pulled out of the draft and is gonna play there. Are they expected to be good?
Currently ranked lower than us in kenpom. They're ranked lower than like UGA was last year I believe and we beat them. And I'd bet our team is much improved this season. All 13 players from last years team are gone. Cal had a clean slate and brought over half of Kentucky. They’ll be big. It’ll be tough.
I just don't think we're going to be very good. Improved. Sure.Currently ranked lower than us in kenpom. They're ranked lower than like UGA was last year I believe and we beat them. And I'd bet our team is much improved this season.
UTenn is top 5, so that's probalby a likely L. I think odds are good we split the SEC games like we did last year. Idk bout this getting dog walked bs.
^^^ This. We'll be improved, but everyone is forgetting the whooping that UK put on us last year in Rupp with a team that should have been good. And that same Coach Cal and half of that roster he beat our *** with is now at Arky with some pretty good supporting pieces.I just don't think we're going to be very good. Improved. Sure.
Ball handling is the biggest issue.
Exactly. FIU was the first red flag but Kentucky was the first time last year I really thought we just aren't very good.^^^ This. No disrespect to calinative...but much like Lloyd Christmas thought about John Denver, "That Kenpom is full ****, man".
You could very well be right but I hope you're wrong because my dad's family is all Arkansas fans. I'm hoping playing at home will make a little bit of a difference.Exactly. FIU was the first red flag but Kentucky was the first time last year I really thought we just aren't very good.
Then, Colorado is when I really knew it just wasn't right and wasn't the same.
We should have some scorers and we have some good defenders. A little bit more size. Overall we're still small and we still don't have a key ball handler or a distributor unless Bethea can evolve his game at PG.
Right now we're going to be a team that can only play in the fast break and catch and shoot. That could be a lethal team when/if they get hot. Could also be a disaster. Tennessee and Arkansas are going to be big teams with firepower. Not good matchups for that style at all. Rick Barnes is one of the best defensive coaches in CBB history and now he's putting together offensive firepower. That will be a 20+ point loss and I'll go on record saying it.
Arkansas will be Kentucky vs Miami 2023 2.0. Calling a 15 point loss and looking overmatched.
I think our offense will look more like when we had Sam running the offense at the top of the key, but modified for the fact we have a real Center now also. The new PF we brought in is an elite shooter.Exactly. FIU was the first red flag but Kentucky was the first time last year I really thought we just aren't very good.

I just hope pack is more consistent this year he would flat out disappear for entire halves last yearI think our offense will look more like when we had Sam running the offense at the top of the key, but modified for the fact we have a real Center now also. It'll definitely be a tweaked offensive scheme compared to the last few years.
I do agree, ball handling and penetration will be the weakness this season (unless Bethea picks up that slack). However, team shooting is going to be elite. Pack, Blackmon, and Johnson are elite shooters with serious range.
Miami should definitely be much improved from last season. We've got shooters and size, but my biggest concern with this team offensively will be if we have anyone that can get from half court to the rim with consistency. Coach L's most successful teams have had 1 or 2 guys on those rosters that could do that. Bethea has a chance to be that guy. Time will tell. GO CANES!!!I just don't think we're going to be very good. Improved. Sure.

I'm bearish on Bethea's ability to be a difference maker right away. I think he 'contributes' early and then maybe blossoms on the backend of the season.Miami should definitely be much improved from last season. Schwartz has that ability too. I know not much is expected from his this season bc he's overshadowed by Bethea, but he's a pretty elite prospect also. We got crushed on the boards by Colorado. That won't happen this year. I don't think we'll be a top rebounding team, but we'll be a solid one, and maybe even a good one.Exactly. FIU was the first red flag but Kentucky was the first time last year I really thought we just aren't very good.
