They were a package deal, Bates is heading to Illinois to be near his ailing mother, who lives in Chicago. We almost got Jalen Duren. Maybe we can convince Bates.
I didn't know they were a package deal. They were a package deal, Bates is heading to Illinois to be near his ailing mother, who lives in Chicago.
They were, this is why a lot of people got excited back then, because if you got Duren, you were going to end up with Bates as well. They made it clear that they were in it together. Both were disappointing as freshmen, Bates was unplayable for a large part of the season. When Earl Timberlake is in the game late, over you, despite being trash himself, you know it's a problem. Bates was supposed to be a 1 and done, he wasn't even close to that production wise last season.I didn't know they were a package deal.
Also a volume scorer. No thanks. They were, this is why a lot of people got excited back then, because if you got Duren, you were going to end up with Bates as well. How does UF have more momentum with transfers right now than we do? They’re coming off an NIT bid and they’re coach left, while we just went to the Elite 8.
L is being extremely selective with stuff, and as has been the case throughout his tenure, is playing a lot of things close to the vest. Again, let the man work, and go from there. With the transfer portal, he who laughs first rarely laughs last. Get the guys you need, to supplement what you already have. If Miami gets Wong back, that's more valuable than 95% of the guys in the portal. You still have a couple of scholarships to play with. How does UF have more momentum with transfers right now than we do? Exactly. UF has a ton of spots to fill, people see the opportunity to play right away over there. Miami has 3 scholarships to play with(That is if Wong doesn't return), and Miami is looking at adding a late signing frosh, which may knock that number down to 2.Two words:. Available scholarships.
Missed opportunity.
Dude, how many spots do you think we have?
If you can't beat them, join them.
Which is why I don't mind not throwing our hat into every ringDude, you have one scholarship available!
One is all you need and that has not been filled.
