Sounds like Miami might take him as a commit once they meet him in person per Gaby. Gaby said he looks like he can really play in the practice he saw today . Patke is recruiting his brother Bobby as well
2023 four-star athlete
Robby Washington is all settled in at Miami Killian after spending his sophomore season in the Volunteer State, where he won a state title with Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland. He played alongside Miami wide receiver target
Isaiah Horton.
The Hurricanes were the first to offer the 5-foot-10, 170-pounder back in April. He has since picked up bids from Tennessee, Boston College, Vanderbilt and Alabama, where Nick Saban personally gave him the news in his office following a camp at the school.
As things stand currently, Miami finds themselves in a good spot with the rising junior.
My dad, the great Bobby Washington, running back for Miami Killian, just following his footsteps. He committed there in 2004,” Washington told InsideTheU during an on-site interview.
The elder Washington broke Frank Gore’s Miami-Dade County record for most rushing yards in a career back in 2003. He signed with Miami but test scores kept him away from Coral Gables. He would land at NC State, where he played under Manny Diaz and Todd Stroud who were both on the Wolfpack's staff at the time.
Washington has yet to make his way to UM’s campus this summer, but that could change soon. There are plans for him to make his way down to Coral Gables on July 25.
Travaris Robinson has been spearheading the recruitment.
“He says to keep working, do the best you could and stay on your grades,” Washington said.
Washington and wide receivers coach Rob Likens have yet to have a conversation, but if things go well when the two meet later this month, Miami could be in line to get some good news.
The Crimson Tide also made an impression on the speedster, who claims to have gone 10.6 in the 100-meter at some point this spring.
“The campus real big. Trophy room, game room, everything. I just really liked it,” Washington said.
Now that he’s in the Sunshine State, Washington is hoping to get a good look at Florida State and Florida. Pitt and Tennessee are a couple of other schools he hopes to get a look at.
Washington also has a twin brother, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker named
Bobby Washington, who also holds a Miami offer.
The industry-generated 247Sports Composite has Washington listed as the nation’s No. 259 overall player and No. 20 athlete.
