LOL nothing really matters if we don't have an old school shot-blocking center? How does that make any sense?

Teams have strengths and weaknesses. If your strengths are good enough, they compensate for your weaknesses. We've made the tournament without starting a true C before.

Casey is a legit PF in today's game.

Have you noticed in recent years that our defense resembled a layup line? That's why you need a shot blocker. Casey's a fine pickup, but at 6'8" 180(!), he's not the paint presence we need.

Evaluating talent is tricky but you do need to find out a kids strengths first.

FYI, Udeh didn't get his first high major offer until May of this year which is when we offered him

Many Division I programs seem to be prioritizing college players and internationally to fill their rosters. They are now turning to the transfer portal to pluck kids from other D1 programs who may be unhappy in their current situation, even looking at juco and D2 prospects. If you look at many coaching staffs a lot of these programs now have coaches with strong international ties. They're still knocking on high school doors, but they're doing it at prep schools and at many of these new trend national "high school" programs, first and foremost. Finding a blue chip prospect at a traditional high school will be few and far between.

The silver lining in all this is that recruiting is still about relationships. That's why it's imperative that our staff get on in-state prospects early. We may not get them out of high school, but if/when they hit the portal a lot of times these guys are looking to come back home. Relationships! Relationships! Relationships!

By the way, 2022 class is shaping up nicely. A lot better then some of the last few classes. Hopefully, we can add one more BIG piece to the class.

Heard L mention a stat at ACC media day that 46% of the players in the ACC this year did not play for their current team last year.

We could certainly use a defensive paint presence.

You said nothing matters unless we get one, which is ridiculous. That's what I was objecting to.

We're not going to win the national title without some more rim protection, but we can make the tournament.

Two girls, who are 6'4 or taller from the State of Miami and highly ranked but aren't going to Miami.
Only our coaching staff.

Hopefully, they will come to Miami as a transfer like Beatrice Montpremier.

We have a lot of people that think that it's 1985, where you can't win without a traditional center. I want a legit rim protecting big that can rebound and be a force in the middle, but I also realize that you can't have enough shooters, enough long, athletic guys. You stack your roster with guys that can shoot and handle, plus some legit length, you'll go far. That said, L has to figure out a way to get some bulk on the roster. There's no excuse why Miami can't find two guys that can merely rebound and block shots.
