2021 QB Jake Garcia talks UM and his Status coming up to NSD

Lashlee followed an Arkansas QB commit today on Twitter, and now this from Wiltfong on Garcia. Doesn’t sound ideal.

While I feel good about USC’s chances for Dart, I don’t think it’s been a slam dunk for Miami to land Top247 quarterback Jake Garcia. The four-star passer reopened the recruiting process on Dec. 3 after a long-time commitment to to those same Trojans and the 247Sports Crystal Ball quickly went Miami’s way. I actually think Florida State had a better chance than people thought when Garcia decommitted but with McKenzie Miltonheaded to Tallahassee as a transfer that ended that possibility.

I think there are some SEC schools potentially in the mix for Garcia, a California native playing his senior season in the Peach State. Regarding the Hurricanes, the relationship with Rhett Lashlee has always been strong with talk of Garcia having a similar impact in the offense as Shane Buechele had playing for Lashlee at SMU.

He will announce at 6:30 pm (EST).

Sounds like the classic case of a network trying to build suspense. He himself just said his mind was made up.

That would be something, Arkansas already has 2 QB's committed. Plus, Miami is a better option than them with a loaded class on offense this year.

Lashlee followed one of them on Twitter earlier today. And it’s the one NOT signing tomorrow. The other one is.

What does Milton going to FSU have to do with anything? He's one and done there.

If Garcia thinks he's starting as a Freshman he's got a very short list of programmes.

Flaky AF!
It’s to the point that the only surprising thing that can actually happen is that he ends up here.

Wiltfong just got some info

UPDATE on Jake Garcia
Update: 3:11 CST: I've raised my confidence in Miami's chances to land Garica to a nine after talking to a source. Would be surprising to see him land elsewhere.

This got hairy for a second but hearing the Hurricanes will pull this out.

Kudos to Lashlee who spearheaded this and navigated some tough waters at the end. Tough decisions for these kids, but I think Miami is in a great spot.

That's strange.

My most optimistic theory- he heard King was coming back and Arkansas told him he could start right away. This spooked him but then Lashlee brought him back.
I just looked at his twitter follows, out of curiosity. I wondered if there would be a bunch of Arkansas related people His last follow is D'Eriq King....

I feel like he’s enjoying the last push of this process. Tough to imagine a kid paying his own money to watch a team play and pick a SEC West team not named Alabama, Auburn or LSU four days later.
