Just curious, pretty sure they use to post them.
They have them in the bio for the returning players. They were likely in a hurry to get the roster up and/or waiting to see which of the new players actually make the team before putting in the effort.Just curious, pretty sure they use to post them.
Part of the problem is the type of schedule the HS played. In FLA, schools are separated into classes based on number of students attending that school. If your school is in a lower class and only plays other schools in the same class, the stats may be misleading. Even if a particular school wins the State Championship in their class does not mean a player on that team with an outstanding performance would have the same type of success if he played at a higher class level.
Baseball America article on Miami and interview with DiMare
Worth a listen, good insight on how the team looks and expectations going into 2020
-Confirms Gates will be a 2-way player in 2020
-As expected, Del Castillo will be the Catcher
-Among the freshman, DiMare singles out Jared Thomas as the hitter he's most excited about
-The BA writers expect Louisville and Miami to be the best teams in the ACC and legit national title contenders
I can’t really comment but unfortunately he’s gone.@Gobuxcanes Any idea what happened with Eskew?
Eskew, Hall, and Bradbury aren’t on the roster they distributed during the game today, and they have been removed from the online roster. That leaves us with the usual 33 players. Obviously losing Eskew and Hall would be a big blow especially for 2021 and beyond.
Wasn't one of them a PG All American?
Both Eskew and Hall were. Eskew was also a 3rd team HS All-American and one of the best pitchers in FL last year. @scane is right, those are tough losses for the future of the program.
There's a good amount of other pitching talent in the freshman class, and McFarlane is probably the one with the highest ceiling, but Eskew seemed like the surest bet to be a college ace. And Hall was a pretty raw player who was a high risk recruit given his ACL injury and character concerns stemming from how he left TXNL, but he has 5 tool talent and could have developed into a Day 1 pick by his junior year.
The only good news (I guess) is that this shouldn't have that much of an impact on 2020. Hall probably wouldn't have played much due to his injury, and while Eskew would have definitely had a role on the staff, our 4 starters are pretty much set with Cecconi, McMahon, Van Belle, and Keysor. This really makes what happens in the 2020 draft even more important though.
Really no idea on Eskew or Hall. The middle of fall practice is an odd time to decide to transfer to a JUCO, especially with Eskew turning down money a few months ago and Hall working his way back from an injury. That's unfortunate. I guess Eskew decided to go the JC route? Any news on how the McFarlane kid has thrown the ball this fall?
