5'11.5 187lbs 3-star CB out of Murfreesboro Tennessee, goes to 6A school Oakland HS (which went 13-1)

Finished his Senior year with 31tcks 8PBU's 2INT's & 2TFL's, but had an even better Junior year with 38tcks 6INT's 7PBU's & 4TFL's.

Has very good bail & press technique & is natural CB, plays on Offense as well but is true CB, not a project. Has great hips & very good footwork, no false steps in his backpedal, skates his feet & maintains leverage to stay with WR deep into the route & takes proper angles on his breaks on the ball to get the INT.

He ran a 4.25 shuttle at the opening with a 31inch vert, no 40 times listed but just off eye test looks to good speed, not slow at all.

Recently decommitted from Ole Miss just on 12/19, said in an interview he did with the Tennesseean he's going to take visits & explore all options, just from reading the interview the kid is open & not locked in with Ole Miss new staff at all, he's 100% available for a team that's willing to put in the work to land him.

Holds offers from South Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky, Va Tech, UVA & Louisville.

From an interview he just did: https://www.tennessean.com/story/sp...rre-mcdonald-re-opens-recruitment/2705645001/

"I felt like it was the right decision for me," McDonald said. "(Ole Miss) is still one of my favorite schools. I just thought it would be best if I re-think a lot of things and re-settle myself."

Kiffin was hired on Dec. 7. McDonald hasn't talked to Kiffin since the coaching change and has made little contact with the coaching staff. "I talked to Coach (Derrick) Nix about a week after that, and that was it," McDonald said.

McDonald is a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite, ranked No. 34 in the nation at his position in the 2020 class and 14th overall in Tennessee.

He led Oakland to a 13-1 record and Class 6A semifinals berth in 2019, recording 31 tackles, two interceptions, eight pass deflections and a blocked punt. He also had 210 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

McDonald also has offers from SEC schools Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Arkansas as well as Purdue, Louisville, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tulane and Western Kentucky.

He said he doesn't have any particular favorites of that bunch yet but does plan on taking more recruiting visits between now and February.

"It's really God's plan" said McDonald, who is also a member of the Patriot basketbal lteam. "He obviously put me in the direction to open my recruitment. I'm going to wait and see what happens. Right now I'm just sitting back and let everything play itself out.

He has a 88.4 composite rating & is the #34 ranked CB in the nation & 14th overall player in the state of Tenn, which would rank him higher than Marcus Clarke & any of the recent CB's we've offered.

The kid's got natural CB skills & a very good Ballhawk, he's not a project that would need a redshirt year, he's already physically big enough (would get bigger in a S&C program) & has very good technique that could make him a contributor even as a TF.

I'd much rather we go after a kid like this who can play as a TF even if only on ST's, than take a 2nd project at CB that won't be able to contribute for a year & some change.

He's got good upside & could eventually be a solid starter, to me it's a no brainer you offer & try to gauge his interest with a visit. He's not signing till February, we could still land him.

The number one rule is "recruit talent". I don't see a special talent.
He's got very good talent & high level ball skills.

He's a 100x better than the kid Colson we just offered out of Georgia who isn't even a true CB.

I'll take a high 3-star/borderline 4-star CB with good vert & ball skills that can play as a TF, over low 3-star that will have to redshirt & won't be ready to play until his Red Soph season.

I have no faith in this coaching staff. They recruit based on measurables and not on field talent

I disagree with that...I like em both ...And this kid's a take for sure. But Colson looks electric out there. Case to be made for both, but Colson has higher upside imo.

I’m convinced that rumph is one of @dmoneys investors and he does this annually so we can post and click about dbs lolol
