Clyde Pinder is bulldog out there, but that bull rush only works for so long he needs to work on other moves. UM's OL prospect Brady is getting his lunch taken on every rep in the video ****, he needs a lot of coaching and he is leaner.

that’s what people said about nesta

Did you watch Nesta against LA Tech, once those gumbo eaten olinemen got into his body and locked up his arms he was done. This is also the same problem Westley Neal will have do to short arms. All 3 of them need to work on developing faster hand fighting skills.

This is why a premium should be placed on OL and DL coaches. Kul sucked as a recruiter but he could make chicken salad out of chicken sht. We've had a huge drop off after Simpson left staff, the lone exception being Rousseau.

That's why we need coaches who stress hands, technique and proper usage of hips/feet. Nesta can't bull rush everyone and needs to learn how to club, rip and pull, swim, and slap the hands away on the initial punch.

I swear our Dline this year runs into linemen like robots as opposed to trying to get by them.

Spread offense with hurry up offense cures this problem....see UCF

I get what you're implying about not having to stay on blocks as long in a spread offense, but that clip shows guys with terrible technique getting beat immediately. We had too much of that this past season as well, but it is correctable if the players are willing to put in the work and you have technicians who can teach.

Akron had some of the worst pass rushing stats during his time there. It's obvious he is a run stop guy first and foremost.

Our LBs seemed to do weird stuff. I'm not a good x's and o's guy but I watched our LBs rush up to the LOS away from the play instead of reading the play. I know we're supposed to be attacking instead of read-and-react but Shaq and other guys would just run right away to spot on the LOS and often the play would go somewhere else on a running play. It seems that many of our best LBs of the past would read and attack.

I think Orgeron was a very good DL coach when at the U. I believe he taught DLs how to use hands. He was a grad assistant I think under Bob Karmelowicz for that awesome '89 DL. Bob later spent many years in the NFL as a DL coach. He came in with Erickson.

Does it make sense to put Rousseau in middle on passing downs instead of on the edge? It seems we did that a lot.

ive been thinking this even when Simpson was here. Our D line don’t show any pass rush moves besides bull rushing. Even Rousseau who was a monster this year made all his plays because he’s just an athletic freak. Imagine if he was actually taught some pass rushing moves and how to use his hands.

I guess it's all situational, but I believe he had a couple sacks from the interior.

I don't mind moving GR15 all over the line as it keeps the Oline on their heels, but it doesn't help to have him flanked by jags.
