2019 - Year of Recruiting Shambles - Offense

Except for Sam Howell, Mellusi & Nayquan we recruited everybody on his list.

Well, I mean yeah, we recruited all these guys. But I'm just more trying to figure out why we have to exaggerate numbers when it's already obliviously terrible. We missed on all but 4 of our top targets. But that number is closer to about 4 out of 10...

Running backs for example....our top targets were Crowley and Trey Sanders. The rest of the guys were just replacements for whiffing on the two, while MAR has been recruited as an athlete who will only play RB if we don't take another this cycle (from what I gather).

QB as you said, Howell wasn't our top target. It was moreso an attempt to take away from FSU..Miami isn't really scrambling that much for a QB right now (like you see us doing with RB).

WR's we wanted 1 entering the cycle, everyone else was just icing on the cake. We got our top target in Payton. (Dunmore reached out to us..) We're much more receptive to getting another WR after the poor performance and exit by JT4. But I doubt we see any other WRs (that aren't elite) being recruited if Dunmore/Haselwood don't come. Which means that a 2nd WR is (in the staff's eyes) a luxury not a priority.

OP also tries to downplay Larry Hodges, saying he wasn't recruited by top programs. Despite the fact that Texas, Oklahoma, and LSU all offered and recruited him AFTER he was already committed to us. Wydermeyer's a plan B to Zipperer. So calling him a top target is also a reach.

0 for 7 on OL? Really? Counting 2 guys we offered in December because we have 0 is a top target now?

We missed on a lot, but no need to over exaggerate to create more **** to cry about is all I'm saying.

OFFENSE could potentially go 4 for 21 on their Top Targets

QB - 0 for 2

1. MJJ: PSU - (Put all our eggs in 1 basket. This will be a theme)
2. Sam Howell: FSU (or UNC) - Stupidly didn't recruit him until the 11th hour (this will be a theme as well)

RB - Potentially 0 for 6 (we'll call it 0 for 3 since we only really targeted the top 3 listed)

1. Marcus Crowley: OSU (Put all our eggs in 1 basket)
2. DJ Williams: Prob ALA/UGA/AUB (Stupidly didn't recruit him until the 11th hour)
3. MAR: AUB - Goofed around for a year by not telling the kid he can play RB
4. Kenny McIntosh: UGA - good enough for them but not Miami
5. Chez Mellusi: CLEM - good enough for them but not Miami
6. Nayquan Wright: UF - good enough for them but not Miami (and openly talks **** about us)

WR - 2 for 3 if we land Haselwood. Dugans luckily didn't get snagged last year by FSU

1. Jadon Haselwood: Miami - maybe the only saving grace on Offense
2. Frank Ladson: CLEM
3. Jeremiah Payton: Miami
4. John Dunmore: PSU/Miami - Stupidly didn't recruit him until the 11th hour
5. TJ Jones: Plan B/C

TE - 1 for 3 maybe 2 for 3 if we can land ZIp

1. Keon Zipperer: UF/Miami - Potentially could get caught with our pants down if this kid is trolling us
2. Jalen Wydermyer: TXA&M
3. Larry Hodges: Miami - not heavily recruited by top programs

OL - 0 for 7. Searles should've been fired mid season

1. Evan Neal: ALA - Put all our eggs in 1 basket
2. Darnell Wright: Staff hasn't even recruited
3. Michael Tarquin: UF - totally dogged by this kid
4. Donte Lucas: FSU/UF - Kid toyed with the staff all year
5. Kingsley Eguakun: UF - totally dogged by this kid. Put all our eggs in 1 basket
6. Darius Washington: MSST - Searles can't recruit
7. Maurice Smith: BC/FSU - Stupidly didn't recruit him until the 11th hour

Leftover Scrubs -
8. Jakai Clark: Miami
9. Zion Nelson: Miami
10. CJ Elmonus: WAKE - picked WAKE over us lol
11. Adam ElGammal: CIN

I actually like Clark. We got lucky there that he was available. But the rest of this post.....spot on.

Rock bottom, however you got to put the determining factors when our Qb throws for 48 yards against Pittsburgh and the offense looks like unorganized pee wee league team. I'm pretty sure recruits was disappointed & frustrated looking at that horror show which they don't want to jeopardize there future here.

Point is our recruiting philosophy is flawed and needs to change

We’re not Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, etc. and shouldn’t have the same recruiting strategy like them until we start winning like them

Just another example of Richt being stubborn and not re evaluating/adjusting

He’s out of touch with reality

BUMP

Mind Boggling - We basically lost every single recruiting battle except 2 (Payton, Hodges) on the Offensive side of the ball

But don't worry we don't need to make any changes to the Offensive Staff cause we were ranked #96 this year
