I think St. Thomas found the portal!
#1 ranked optimist player in the country
I don't know, man. LOLIs there such a ranking? How do they do it? Someone watching tape of 8th graders?

They are ranking kids from 9 u in youth leagues.
Generatioin Nexxt..and Larry Blustein has been doing it for ever
Smh... It is ridiculous. I don't get how the Florida high school athletic body thought free reign in transferring was going to be overly beneficial.Fckin announcements for high school transfers now, Jesus Christ.
Soon middle schoolers will be announcing what high school they’re choosing after Optimist
What class are the kids that played for that unstoppable Fort Lauderdale Hurricanes team a couple of years back, the one that was #1 in the country and beat Snoops team? Is that Amari Daniels class?
24 seniors signed with schools this year...How out of the loop do you think college recruiters are? Do you think there are kids putting up numbers on "mediocre teams" that just completely get ignored? Maybe 25 years ago that might have been the case but these days, you don't have to rely solely on your coaches' college connections to get a school to pay attention. Do you think recruiters wouldn't know anything about a guy who was tearing it up at Dillard, Piper, or Coconut Creek? STA always has a ton of seniors signing because they always recruit the best players. Those guys playing under 100 snaps aren't signing with FBS or FCS schools. Unless they were injured and have a bunch of tape from previous seasons where they played a lot. The "exposure" myth has hurt a bunch of kids who might have had a chance at a G5 or FCS offer but ended up stuck on the bench behind an All American type kid. It's not just STA. All the private schools who recruit players do this. It's the coaching staff's job to get as many star players and win as many games as possible. For a sure fire, 4 star type player, it doesn't matter because you'll get plenty of snaps. But some borderline 2 start type could easily get buried at the end of the bench.
Yup that's my youngin...he dipped out of there. He was a starter but hurt his leg severly acl early in the season.
2021
Yes. Team had Tyrique Owens (Sta-Carol City). Lawrence Seymour-Miami Central (Um COMMIT), Daniels- Miami Central (um offer), Tyreak Sapp (UM offer), Jaden Mcburrows- American Heritage (Tenn, Vanderbilt,Nc State early offers)
Theres some other kids off that team im missing but thats an early list of kids off that team..so Yea they were loaded.
Kids played for the fort lauderdale hurricanes but are going to HS in Dade? They commute to HS or were they using their relatives addresses to play for teams in other counties lol
Benedict Hyppolite the HC for CC was the HC for Hallandale before he took the CC job in 2017, he brought over all those HDale kids with him.A lot of that Hurricane team or just about all that team was essentially the Pembroke Pines Bengals team. They just moved to Hurricanes for that one season as the league didnt want them in it or some kind of problem as they were blowing every team out.
They were mostly Dade/South Broward kids to begin with.
Tyrique is from Hollywood/Hallandale. For whatever reason Carol City is loaded and have been raiding the Hallandale areA for kids:
Brownlee (fsu), Ray (fsu), Thaiu Jones Bell, Owens all were at Hallandale high or from the area. I think maybe someone on staff is from Hallandale or use to coach there at C.C.
Hyppolite came from Hallandale when he replaced Aubrey Hill. But FTL Canes are kinda like STA, you'll find kids from all 3 counties on their park. Amari came from Scott Lake Vikings, Seymore and Earl Little Jr. are from Dade and Henry Bryant is a Delray kid. But the bulk of the kids are Broward kids...A lot of that Hurricane team or just about all that team was essentially the Pembroke Pines Bengals team. We're speaking in circles.
It's not paid for by the school. Maybe it's the Archdiocese or a general "catholic" school fund. But STA is run by the Archdiocese of Miami and therefore there aren't shadow figures writing off tuition for athletes.
In other words, its not American Heritage.
