2019 OT Jack Niland

A kid this size can be salvaged for sure.My only concern if he’s been enabled to much being a big kid and feeling eating a lot is enough.

He has a year to get ready and train like no other, question is his teenager mindset of knowing it all .

Break that then he has a chance.

Dmoney, How do these guys pay fifty plus grand a year to walk on at Miami? Is there legal money to help?

Academic and Special Circumstance scholarship money for many of them would be my bet. There are SO many scholarships - you have to know where to look. Some of these are substantial. I know from personal experience with a friend of my daughter that there are also private scholarships funded by families that are at the discretion of the individual school dean.

I am sure there are creative packages put together.

Thanks Hoya.

Also kids have college savings accounts established as well.

Hoya, how do you come to be a Hoya? I'm a Hoya. Did I already ask you this question?

Don't spread it around. If they find out I've been admitting to my pastas a Hoya all those brothers buried in the on-campus cemetery could be turning over in their graves.

Georgetown used to be creative in admissions for basketball players. They did have some special programs I believe for disadvantaged kids from minority communities. Once the kids got in, they had to produce academically.

LOL! My wife and I are both Hoyas - class of 1983. When were you there? Clearly Georgetown football wasn't of much interest back then; I don't think it was even a scholarship sport. I remember Homecoming used to be against Galludet, the deaf school! We lived for basketball season. Home basketball games were on campus in the old McDonough gym. I can't remember exactly when it moved to the Cap Center (maybe senior year?) John Thompson Sr. ruled with an iron hand during those years. My wife and I had friends who were involved with the basketball team either as trainers, tutors or just plain "babysitters". We were diehard Hoya basketball fans back then, much like we are Canes fans now.

Have you been back there recently? That cemetery now backs up into the lacrosse field!

My two kids are Canes - thought about Georgetown but wanted a broader experience. My wife and I were more than okay with that. We have a close friend from Gtown who also has a daughter at UM and another Gtown friend married a UM alumni. We have quite a group of Hoya-Canes that tailgate for games when we can all get together!

There seems to be a few Hoyas on this board.

Didnt really see anything impressive in those highlights. Slow feet and not enough strength. A lot of coaching to do
