2018 LB Xavier Peters

Why everybody is saying LB? The highlights I'v seen he played DE with many snaps his hand on the ground. I'm confused.

Because the only thing they have ever seen is his 4 star ranking on his 247 page that says LB and 2-3 plays in the Under Armour game when he played in a stand up LB role.... because they can’t blitz in those games

Who the **** cares? Find out what fits him the best and let him play. The only thing the UA game showed was how talented he is.

May I also mention Patrick Joyner’s tape is the same thing.

Makes sense but also means they never watch the kid's senior tap in HS. The kid is a DE all the way.

Could play DE if he’s a legit 6’4 and long enough. Maybe he grows into one but he showed speed and athleticism to be a LB like you see at Alabama lately. Big as ****, can hit, and run well

I see more of a hybrid role. Olb/de.

We only have like 7 or 8 scholarships left maximum. Looks like Ezzard and Chatfield are pretty much sure things at this point. That leaves us with 5 or 6 left.
Then We're going after Campbell, Surtain, Coburn, and Michael Thompson who pretty much are guaranteed a spot. If we get all of them, which is the hope, we'd be left with 1 or 2 spots left.
Basically my point is if we land Coburn or Thompson or both, I don't see how Briggs and Chatman both get in this class. Its one or the other. Personally I think Briggs will end up going with FSU.

It will all work out; trust the veteran coach.

I agree that DL and DB are bigger needs. But one doesn't preclude the other. We've easily got enough available rides (I think 26-28) to add three more DL, 1 more DB (if Campbell or Surtain want in) and a LB. You add top talent when you can and this kid looks like a top talent.

ay im the one in the initial Campbell and Surtain meltdown thread that said we'd get both of them, COburn or THompson, Ezzard, Chatman, and Gerald. Basically if we can get peters he takes Geralds spot. And if we can get briggs he takes chatmans spot. we'll see, but ive been confident.

No its not. We have a maximum that we can sign due to the initial counter limit of 25 per class. And judging by Richts comments only 3 EE's can be applied to the 2017 class, which means the most we can take in 2018 is 28. Thats just what it is. And we should hope some guys leave through attrition between now and the end of the season because thats the only wy we cab get a class of 20+ in 2019. We need 10 guys to transfer or declare early to bring in a full 25 in 2019.

Hope we are telling him that and that we are telling Joyner he is a hybrid and then we use them both as hybrid mismatch nightmares.

This kid looks like the prototypical SLB that can cover a tight end, and Joyner would be great in that Pink role coming on the blitz.

Not to mention the film on these recruits is grainy as ****. You can see some things, but a lot of what people try and claim (footwork with OL comes to mind) they can see, you simply cannot.

You obviously missed the Article interviewing Fromm’s dad talking about Richt’s refusal to recruit or offer the kid when they were basically begging and couldn’t understand why he refused to do so. If Smart doesn’t offer there is no title run genius. Any more examples you wish to bring up aside from blowing the SEC title game to Bama in ‘12?

Are you really this impressionable? Did you miss the two elite RBs Georgia managed to recruit and sign? Did you miss the elite LB corp? How about their DL and OL?

Fact: If Eason didn't get hurt, no one would know a thing about Fromm and UGA's season would have been no different. That's not a knock on Fromm but all this talk of him being some sort of proof that Richt screwed the pooch is just, well, Monday morning Quarterbacking.

If you want to see what a QB mess looks like, you should have been here last summer.

All I did was repeat what Smart and those covering the game said. No Fromm no playoffs.
