I know their is a thread on this but are we going to get ANY commits for 2018? Are we in it for anyone!

For our team to be great next year we would need brown or walker to stay next year if we cant get 2018 recruits.

Can anyone inform me who we are likely to get?

Thanks!

Just enjoy this year bro. Next year is gonna be rough because of the FBI

or..... they all stay!

I wouldn't mind this lineup:

PG - SO Lykes
G - JR Brown
G - SO Walker
G - SR Lawrence Jr.
G - JR Vasilivijec
G - Wilson?
F - JR Huell
F - Izundu
F - Miller
F - Gak

That would probably be the most talented college basketball team in the country

I could see Walker staying just because he's all about leaving a legacy. He wanted to put his high school on the map so bad by winning a championship and wanted to be someone locals could look up to. If he feels the same about us he could stay. Money is money though

See the next Outside the Lines is titled "The University of Adidas at Louisville." Hope we can stay clear of hits like that.

At this point, no news is bad news. I think what would help us most would be closure. Unfortunately, I don't see a quick resolution.

Even with any expedient good news, the prospects for the spring period are pretty barren. Just too late to establish relationships.

Think you are right. Oh well, back to the JuCo's, Euros, Aussies, Africans, Chinese, or grad xsfers. They've worked out well in the past and no reason they can't again.

Really need to look hard at Ontario (Canada, not Cali). The number of top guys playing prep ball in the Toronto area is growing by leaps and bounds.

Huell may not even stay. We will take a step backward next year. But we'll still have middle of the pack talent next year. Probably still make the NCAA's

[Ignoring his MO, because who really knows] I don't see it at this point. He isn't close to a first round pick.

If he can start putting up John Collin's numbers, then maybe.

This is one of the many reasons why you don't hold scholarships. We did that the last two classes. We need to fill up.

Huell is a very good 6'11 athlete with room to grow. He already has some offense. He's averaging 13ppg on an undefeated team. He dominated the Minnesota front court which many expected to be top 10. He's going to be high on potential to some teams depending on how the ACC goes for him.

I understand you can't compare a draft class to another draft class but look at John Collins as a comparison. Collins was averaging, in his second season at WF, 19 and 10. He was a first round pick (19th). He then left for the NBA after being most improved and first team (All-ACC).

The point is Collins was playing tremendous basketball against the same competition. I think Huell has to really get his numbers up (during ACC play) in order to justify leaving early because...he isn't there today.

Consider Bam Adebayo who averaged 13ppg and 8rbpg and shot .599. Huell already has comparable numbers and is shooting .641. I agree that he has to play well in the ACC but I don't think he has to average 19ppg to show enough potential to show up on the scouts first round radar.

Lykes/DJ/Amp at guards

Sam/Gak Sf
Izundu PF
Miller C

Maybe play only 7..... Not sure how good we will be...

1. I never said he has to average 19PPG. I said that Huell has to get his numbers up against better competition.

2. As for Bam, it is a bad comparison. Bam played ONE year at Kentucky. Bam played well from day ONE. Bam played well when it mattered most too. Bam and Huell aren't on the same level at this point.
