2017 Walter Football Mock draft (Updated 12/29/16)

He lost me even before he still had Michael Floyd playing for the Cardinals when he selected a WR for Arizona. I have watched his mocks for a few years and he has very mixed results come draft days. DeShone Kizer to the Bears at overall #3 is crazy.

Once they truly analyze Kaaya's movement in the pocket and outside the pocket, his stock will likely go down. He's living a little off being UM's career passing leader. I don't know how deeply people have paid attention to just how bad he is in the pocket.

He is poor rolling to his right and horrendous rolling to his left and he probably knows this himself more than anyone.

He can stay and hope to improve in these areas or hope a team that sees the potential for improvement drafts him.
Kaaya's biggest issue is short area quickness. Not only in physical capabilities, but feel within the pocket. A few steps up, back or to the side would make all the difference in his game. I imagined he'd realize that and come back to put that on film. It could be worth millions in guaranteed money and possibly create longevity in the NFL.

If Goff can go first overall, so can Kaaya

More Like if Hackenberg can go in the 2nd round Brad has a chance to go top 2 rounds.

Two things about how Hackenberg can affect Kaaya's stock:

1) According to most, Hackenberg looked horrendous and almost inconceivably so. The reach the NYJ's made plays against Kaaya...
2) Except that Hackenberg's biggest issue revolved around accuracy. Not just bad accuracy, but Rick Vaughn type stuff.

Would love to see Kaaya end up in KC. A couple years behind Alex Smith with Andy Rieds coaching could work wonders for him. Also Arizona looks like might be good fit.

Wow, Quincy a top 5 pick? Thought e everyone here said he wasn't that good coming out of high school.

Worst QB class in the last 15 years, IMO.

I believe the Dolphins played their way out of being able to draft Zach Cunningham. Ideally would want them to draft Adoree Jackson or Njoku.

Would love Jackson at cb as we desperately need an upgrade there. I thought Jackson said he was going back for his senior year though?

Scouts have been to a ton of games. And you dont think people is watching one of the supposedly top qbs in the draft? The draft is more about what you project a guy to be not as much about what he is now.

There will likely be a team that puts on the tape when kaaya is good and believe they can coach up the other stuff and get his full potential out.

I agree that he'll get drafted. I never said he wouldn't.

My scouting report on Kaaya would be:

Kaaya's Pros - Size, Smarts, Accuracy, Durability. He can be deadly accurate when given time. He read a defense and go through progressions. He's taken a lot of hits and always bounced back. He's got plenty of game experience.

Kaaya's Cons - Average arm strength, bad pocket presence, lack of mobility, might not be a "true" leader. I don't think his deep balls are NFL caliber. He has to be completely comfortable in the pocket to be good. He doesn't "feel" pressure well. He doesn't step into throws when he knows he's going to be hit. Instead he'll alligator arm his throws, stay flat footed, and/or immediately twist his body to absorb the hit. You can see he REALLY does not like getting hit. He doesn't really take charge - I've never really seen him rallying the team, or the team rallying behind him.

I see Kaaya as having a long career as an NFL backup, but don't think he's an NFL starter.

If im fins, I take Njoku rd 1 Elder rd. 2. Both elite talents that will dominate the league for next decade. Would love to see a Njoku Simms combo

I like Kaaya, but I honestly don't see his stock improving if he comes back. In that case he's better off coming out early.

Agree except for the "i like Kayaa" part. Dont let this game fool you, hel have everybody screaming at the tv next year calling for the next man up.
