2017 Running Backs

It sounds like it'll be Burns and McFarland in this class at RB - which would be a very good class....

I just hope that Burns can stay healthy - he sounds like a good one if he can...

if all four want in then Felix and Burns are going to be finding new homes outside of SFL but sigma is right BUrns and McFarland is the realistic possibility

If they have Mcfarland coming they take Burns. Turning their back on a hometown kid that stayed committed would be a bad move. Burns and 1 outsider.

I'd say realistically since we would take two is McFarland and Burns. Felix is not a RB IMO and more of a slot receiver and Carr is a long shot. He will visit but I don't think he leaves the west coast. Still McFarland and a healthy Burns is a great class.

Mannnnn. Burns is another decommitment waiting to happen. I don't think they are really high on him based on better backs really interested in Miami and his injury history. He's going to ND eventually IMO.

per 247 today:

It was over two months ago now, but Carr's (6-0, 202) most recent trip was to Miami. His memories of the experience remain so vivid that he can't shake them.

"I think it's the 1-on-1 talks that I had with the coaches and the facilities," Carr said. "Their campus is just so beautiful, man it's hard to forget that. Half the time I spent wondering where I really was because it looks more like a resort. It's ridiculous, it didn't even feel like a school that actually has you going to classes."

The Hurricanes offered Carr on signing day and Thomas Brown has led the charge every step of the way, hoping to keep their name in the mix.

"They came out to watch me practice during the spring so that was a good feeling," Carr said. "That wasn't too much of a surprise, I guess not much is anymore. The progress I'm making with Coach Brown has been great. He does a great job teaching running backs and he's family oriented so it's easy to get along with him."

Carr's status with his USC pledge remains unchanged, sometimes he characterizes it as soft and others as solid. He is considering other programs but declined to provide names.

Carr didn't want to give away how anybody could catch the Trojans either, but his justification makes a lot of sense.

"If I said how to do it, then it's too easy for schools to persuade me," Carr laughed. "I would rather let things play out and see if somebody snags my interest instead of me just giving out the answer. If a school can figure that out on their own, that means they understand me pretty well."

Alabama, California, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and UCLA are also among Carr's twenty BCS offers. The Wolverines were his only other visit, for their spring game on April 1st.

I am so excited about a Redshirt Freshman Homer, that I don't care that much. He will be a freshman when they are and I think he deserves a lot more hype. Just excited to watch him prove it. Of course I hope they get the absolute best scenario possible which is McFarland, Burns, and Felix (as a utility back). Just would not be worried if they only grabbed one or two of those discussed. Walton will be a jr next year, and Yearby will be back for his senior year, because of the way the competition is panning for him this season.

I think we're all missing the OPs point; they asked if all 4 WANT in, who do we take. If we take 3 of 4, it would be McFarland, Carr, and Burns, imo. If it's two of 4, give me McFarland and Carr.

Imma need Richt and Brown to start showing their Resum*s to these RBs;

They need to be to like, "you want to be considered a top 15 pick, win NFL rookie of the year, rush for 2k in a season, we make that happen...here's the list."

Limited highlights of Burns don't look good. Doesn't seem to have RB instincts. Gimmie McFarland and/or Carr.

Wish we had a shot at Najee Harris...dude is unbelievable and is going to the "RB U (will suck in the pros)"
