WR is going to be a major area of need once again in 2017 since we'll only have 6 scholarship wideouts on the roster once Coley/Lewis leave following next season.

Carol City's Kevaughn Dingle (6'1", 193 pounds) is coming off a season in which he averaged a whopping 28.9 YPC and had 11 TDs on just 29 receptions. Dingle should be one of the top priorities in our backyard for 2017.

Check out the ridiculous catch at the 2:15 mark of his junior highlights:

STUD !!!! Give me Greene along with dingle

Dingle and Greene should be two top priorities at WR.

Another in-state receiver who looks really interesting is Matt Landers from Saint Petersburg, FL. 6'5" receiver who can stretch the field and has really nice speed for his size. Already has offers from FSU and UF, but not Miami yet.

Funny that you brought him up 01. Was just about to mention him. Believe he comes from R. Jenkins high school.

Yes he does. Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg.

Landers looks better coming out of high school than Devante Peete and Freddie Pinder, IMO. Better speed, quickness, and RAC.

Stage set for Spring commits and flips

"Miami is off to another fast start this cycle with 10 early pledges. The Canes lead for a pair of four-star teammates, wide receiver Kevaughn Dingle and Deandre Wilder, of Opa Locka, Fla./Carol City.

Dingle figures to make a verbal commit before Wilder but both could be on commit lists by the end of the Spring Evaluation Period.

They each grew up liking the hometown Canes."

This should be another recruiting cycle in which we won't have to leave the state to address LB. Exceptions can always be made if truly elite out-of-state targets want to join the class and not play games, but there's plenty of top-end talent at the position once again locally.

Current commits
Dunning
Steed
Kearney

Possible targets
Dylan Moses (IMG Academy, No. 1-ranked recruit in the 2017 class)
De'Andre Wilder (Carol City)
VanDarius Cowan (Palm Beach Gardens)
Nadarius F agan (Southridge)

IIRC, the fathers of both Steed and Wilder post on this board. Steed missed all of last season with a knee injury, so hopefully his recovery is going well. Wilder is an animal coming off a 14-sack season who already has offers from Miami, Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Florida. Cowan decommitted from Florida State in October, but recommitted to FSU two months later. F agan, who has offers from Alabama and LSU, is one of many top talents coming out of Southridge this season. He doesn't have a Miami offer yet.

F agan, Wilder and Kearney jump out at you like speedy tough UM backers of the past. Steed and Dunning seem solid, but don't wow me like the other 3. Cowan is impressive as well. Hope he can be swayed. Dream list would be F agan, Wilder, Kearney and Cowan.

Already been mentioned in other threads that CB Shawn Davis (Southridge) and CB Latavious Brini (Mater Academy Charter) were offered earlier tonight.

We've also offered S Grant Delpit (6'3", 185 pounds) from Lamar HS in Houston, TX. Already has offers from Baylor and TCU. Will be visiting Miami for Junior Day later this month, according to 247 Sports.

Steed missed 2015 to have shoulder surgery not knee surgery. He is 100% now and measured up at 6'1" and 225 lbs at the Army Combine.

Cowan future is at DE.

F'agan I like as a SS but would like to take the Gayot approach and see how he does with weight. He's about 185-190 now.

Kearney and Wilder are fast and very athletically explosive yes.....

After their sophomore years I had Steed tabbed as the best player between them(Dunning, Kearney, Steed, Wilder). Steeds football IQ and instincts are VERY good. Stands out in pass coverage as well(Reminds me a lot of Sean Spence). Sucks that Wayne couldn't play as a junior because of his shoulder but I expect a very big year from him as a senior.

Dunning is a pure thumper, might not be the most athletic of the group of 4 but he's physical, sheds blocks very well and can lay the wood. He's not cerebral like Shaq or Steed but he's pure aggression. Possess some pass rush ability as well. His stock took a hit I would say in some eyes because STA had to use him a lot at DL. Due to the fact STA had the injury bug on the DL but he will be back full time at LB this year.

I will say too. It's comparing apples to oranges.

Wayne best role is WLB (Can play MLB but I prefer WLB, fits his attributes best).

Wilder best role is SLB(Think he could play WLB or maybe even some MLB but his best fit to his attributes is at SLB).

Dunning best role is MLB (Can play SLB but I believe MLB fits him best)

Kearney I like at either SLB or WLB(Can play MLB but I prefer him on the outside. Very athletically gifted and led his school to their best record in history. Reminds me of two way LBs like Shaq Thompson and Myles Jack mold.)

Geo I like Steed's commitment and this is not a knock on his talent, but would you say that Wilder and N. F'agan are better "or" more highly regarded backers?

Wilder has more upside due to his size and speed, yes. But based off their soph years. I had Steed tabbed as the best player.

I don't take speed and size as everything, but it does count to an extent. Steeds football IQ and instincts have always stood out to me.

Now issue is, Steed didn't play as a junior so I can't vouch anything for this past season.

Wilder does take the cake as the most violent of any. He's a terror.

Kearney comes across as most athletic and versatile to me.

(Both Wilder and Kearney have speed you can't teach at the position)

Dunning takes a hit as a junior and wash for that year because he had to sacrifice for team due to injuries and play lot of DL. He gets redemption as senior as STA plans to keep him at ILB.

As for F'agan. My only issue is he doesn't have a defined position in my eyes. I view him as a SS, maybe WLB. All depends how he holds up with weight. He's closer to 185-190 than 200 as his Hudl. Hudls get inflated. I like F'agan as a SS in Diaz system, take him and do the Gayot approach.(See how the weight comes, can always shift to OLB)

This is coming from seeing Steed, Dunning, Wilder and F'agan at games, camps and few events.(7on7)

As for being coveted by programs. Wilder will receive most attention of anyone. He does have a lot of ceiling and upside.
