Lmao, Coker committed a few months after Coley was named OC. I highly doubt that a Qb guru, like Jimbo, would let a coach with only one experience coaching QBs at FIU, dictate who they signed at the position...
 
Had lunch with my friend today who went to Baylor HS. He spoke with the Baylor coach who said, off the record, that he's a little shocked that Miami is genuinely interested. He thinks the kid can be a very solid college QB, but he's not ready now, and he's not sure if he's "Miami caliber." I know when I've posted things like this before, people have brought up that we've sucked for 10 years, which is true, but we're obviously still thought of a lot higher than a Purdue or Mississippi State or even West VA.

I love his film I honestly like him just off potential. I don't want him to start for 3 years.... But dude ran over a LB in his highlight tape.. Torrence Gibson can't do that. Plus he's 6'5 & can run that's ridiculous. Good Coaching will have him on a high level

Appreciate the insight, thanks. I'd agree with the Baylor HS coach's assessment just based on his highlights. Certainly wish the kid well, though.

I hope this guy picks Tenn, or West Virginia, because i **** sure don't see what other guys are excited about. Or even trying to reference Kaaya.

This dude has a bum arm, and almost every pass he throws in that lowlight reel. Would be a pick on the next level.

Only reason to take this guy. Would be, to just add some depth. We already got our Gray Crow quote filled.

Side note: People need to quit with the Coley is some great QB talent finder. Until the day he produces one on the college level.

Lmao, Tiano only completed 48% of his passes last year. He isn't accurate....Of course his video shows him completing all of them. Show me a QBs highlight video with one incompletion in it....smh:
 
Here is a kid Miami should also take a long look at, he could definitely add some QB depth an he knows he will have to sit an wait when he gets to college. I think he and Taino could shoot it out at a UM camp this summer for a committable spot.

I agree that Jimbo was the reason they made it to the NFL but............ let's be real nobody believed in Ponder and he's been a bum while let's not even try to forget how much we all were iffy on Manuel and why he wasn't better then he was and the jury is still out on him. Coley has much to prove but I dont look at FSU having qbs in the league as a way to say they've been that great

Yeah thats the point but did they really build up the qbs or was there stud talent around and the coaches built the offense to where they could succeed without trying to put too much on them? Yes, recruits look at that but that doesnt mean that Coley can't do the same thing that was my only point
