2015 DBs: How many and which ones?

Pete - Any insight on why Calvin Brewton does not have a Miami offer?

Not Pete, but I'm pretty close to Calvin and it might just be a numbers thing. Miami is looking for 2 big time safety's in 2015; They've offered Kendrell McFadden and Jaquan Johnson and those seem to be the main two, unless they strike out with one of them it's going to be tough to see him get an offer IMO. The staff likes him a lot, and they are in contact, just no offer yet.

id think they'd consider taking three considering safety does not look like a very deep position

IMO the top 5 DBs for us to land this cycle are:

1) S - Jaquan Johnson (has said we have a slight lead)

2) CB - Tyrek Cole (has said he wants to play with Jaquan Johnson and talks to Tracy all the time)

3) S - Kendrell McFadden (things looking good here)

4) CB - Rashard Causey (loved his visit this weekend and has high interest and also helps us with Scarlett if he hops on board)

5) CB - DeAndre Baker
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IMO the following players will be recruited to play offense or ATH(WR/DB):

1) WR - Shawn Burgess-Becker (gonna be a tough pull)

2) WR - Tim Irvin (slot receiver who could also line up at RB and return kicks and punts)

3) QB/WR - Torrance Gibson (could be a stud Safety, but wants to play QB)

4) ATH - Jordan Conkrite (if we bring him in it as a pure ATH and we will find his position out of RB/WR/S once he gets here)

I'd be surprised if Brewton isn't offered. Remember, Deon Bush got his offer in the spring following his junior season.

We're in good shape with the majority of those kids. I wonder what the total number of DBs we take next year is.

1. Tyrek Cole CB
2. Jaquan Johnson S
3. Kendrell McFadden S
4. Rashard Causey CB
5. Tavares McFadden CB/S

How may do we take?

Rank them

1. Tim Irvin (RB/Slot/DB) -Westminster
2. Jordan Cronkite (RB/S)- Westminster No Miami offer yet
3. Torrance Gibson (QB/WR/S) - American Heritage
4. Tyrek Cole(CB) - Miramar
5.Tarvarus McFadden (S/CB) - American Heritage No Miami offer yet
6. Calvin Brewton (S) - Miami Central No Miami offer yet
7. Shawn Burgess-Becker (WR/CB/S) - Monarch
8. Kendrell McFadden (S) - McArthur
9. Jaquan Johnson (S) -Killian
10. Jamel Dean (CB) -Cocoa
11. Deandre Baker (CB) - Miami NorthWestern
12. Rashard Causey (CB) - USchool
13. Deon Cain (DB/WR) - Tampa Bay Tech
14. Davante Davis (DB) - Homestead
15. Gerald Robinson (CB) - Champagnat Catholic

Quick question about DeAndre Baker. I read that some think he will better than Artie Burns. How much better is he than our MNW commit Mayes?

For the secondary give me #4, #6, and #9. I want #3 as an athlete and #7 as a WR.

I would add #8 and #12 to the secondary

I thought about this yesterday... You will never see that many dbs in one small are again. I mean it was pretty much handed to Golden smh

The offensive line group has some really good prospects this year. Hopefully we get at least 2 of them.
