2014 SOS based on 2013 records (Miami #14)

Haa! And FSU is 47th? Look at their schedule and compare it to ours.. They got Ok St., UF, Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame...

Terrible way to do SOS. This is worthless. This has UF at 34. UF plays Alabama, Missouri UGA, LSU, South Carolina and FSU. FIU is 17 and the hardest games they play are Pitt Loserville and Marshall.

just ******* win. Nebraska and VT on the road are doable, this isn't Alabama at Alabama.

Sick of excuses. This is the year to **** or get off the pot.

Louisville: New QB, New Coaching Staff

FAMU: is FAMU

Arkansas State: New QB, New Coaching Staff

Nebraska: New QB

Georgia Tech: New QB

Virginia Tech: New QB

Virginia: New QB

Pitt: New QB

FSU, Duke, UNC, Cincinnati: play at home with our 'home field advantage'...****, forget that last part.

Of course, we, obviously will be starting a new QB as well, but there are no excuses on why we shouldn't win 10 games. None.

ignore my rep...that was accident. You use flawed logic. You assert that we will win all those games because they have a new QB but in the next breath say we have no excuses to win 10 games yet we are also starting a new QB? SMH

While I would love to win 10 games, I am not in the business of forecasting guaranteed wins because based on our recent history there are No "gimmie" games any more.

Lets take it one game at a time and before that..lets get thru spring without any more injuries.

10 wins? I'm about as optimistic as they come, but I dont see 10 wins on this schedule. We aint beating FSU, which means we have to go **** near undefeated the rest of the way. Either 10-1 in the regular season or 9-2 plus a bowl win. I'd be happy with 8-9 wins as long we finally take the Coastal. That's a solid season with a Freshman QB and will set us up nicely for the following year when we can compete with a Winston-less FSU for the Conference and hopefully a spot in the 4 team playoff.

First, this is just a stupid irrelevant way to gauge SOS in the pre-season. Everyone relax. No need to have a temper tantrum. ********** and take a xanyx.

Second, the way I see our schedule is on a difficulty basis.

Very Hard (we will be the underdog by 7 or more)

FSU

Moderately Hard (we will likely be the underdog)

@ VT
@ Nebraska
@ Louisville

Moderate (games we should be the favorite and should win)

Duke
UNC
Cincinnati
@ UVA

No reason to suspect change given Al's track record

@ Georgia Tech
Pitt

No need to discuss

Arkansas State, and
FAMU

Just some random tidbits:

@ VT we play them after an off week (12 days after Cinn at home). VT plays at Pitt the week before (they don't have an off week).

UNC we play them with an extra 2 days (our game the week before is on Thursday), UNC plays @ UVA the previous week.

FSU we play them after an off week (14 days after UNC at home). FSU plays UVA the week before.

I dont see how UL will be that difficult of a game.....
They lose their coach and their 1st Round QB, plus others, while we return the one guy that made our offense in any way shape or form balanced in Duke. This year Duke is a junior and Coley is a soph, if we cant beat teams like UL, just blow it all up and start again.

Anyone know Golden's record after a bye or with extra prep time?

Louisville on the road with a Freshman QB who has never thrown a college pass and you dont see how this would be that difficult of a game. We just got murdered by them a few months ago on a neutral field. While Teddy played well, he wasnt the only reason we lost.

I agree with you in theory.

Even though I think Petrino is a beast, he is implementing an entire new system (new coordinators) to kids he never coached/recruited. UL lost a ton of good talent too. I think Petrino will not have a finished product week 1 against us, perhaps even too complicated at first. It is a tremendous advantage for us to play them week one.

There are two negatives and one trade-off.

Negatives:

1. It is a road game for us.

2. Petrino will present a pretty good offensive product (not finished but pretty good).

Trade-off

We're starting a new QB, they're starting a new QB. Although if it is Olsen, he has been coached by Coley and Co. for one full season. He will still be throwing his first pass in that game (if he starts).
