2014 Seniors - WE GOIN TO THE SHIP

We were one or two plays from being 12-1 this year, so I can definitely see us making it happen next year.

Good list of SR's but the reality is if they don't step up as true leaders they won't win crap.

Don't know how good of a leader WIlliams is but it starts with him. He needs to have the teams respect.
What gives me hope is that he was the QB for Miramar when they won the ship.

Defensively we need true leaders. I once thought we would get that from Chickillo and Perryman but I don't think they are. Time for them to step up.
 
best group of seniors we've had in a while...whic really puts things in perspective...i hate to say it but i think chickillo is a taller,white version of shayon...i spit out my coffee when i saw he submitted paperwork to the nfl draft advisory board.

still think we are going to be 8-10 wins this season...only way we get to 10 is if our defense somehow improves, so 8-9 seems likely.

You must have spit out more than your coffee when you saw Chick got back a 4th-5th round grade.
Our defense is going to improve simply by addition by subtraction.
You take out Gaines and Highsmith/Rodgers and add in Kirby or ideally Perryman in the middle and A healthy Bush, and we are no longer playing 9 against 11 on defense.
Porter, Renfro and Robinson were good for 2-3 snaps at a time but then just wilted with fatigue and got driven into the 2nd level.

Just like baseball. You need to be strong up the middle to be a good defense.
Pierre is stout at DT, but we need to have a DT that commands a double team to free up our ends.
Say what you want about Chick, but when he's single blocked he makes an impact.

Chick, Heurtelou/Wyche/Moore/Hamilton, Pierre, AQM/Kamalu
Fig, Denzel, McCord/Grace
Tracey, Bush, Jenkins/Carter, Gunter/Burns/Crawford.

That's a defense that can work.

Offense is going to come down to our qb.

If Williams can become Steve Walsh then watch out.
If he becomes Tyler Cook then lower the deductibles on all your insurance policies.

Something tells me that with a healthy Duke and with Yearby, Dallas and Gus backing him up we will be running the ball 40 times a game next year.
Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see us play like Stanford did this year.
