Pre-season polls are not the most accurate but they are the best baseline for gauging strength of upcoming schedule in the spring. Looking at various publications, I do not get the perception that 2014's schedule are hard. Below are different preseason polls:

The only teams projected to be ranked that we play next year are:
FSU #1 : #1 : #1
UNC NR : #24 : #17
Louisville #25 : #23 : NR
So in sum we play one top 10 team and two teams that are borderline projected to ranked. Assuming we aren't devastated by injuries this team based on its roster should be expected to win 11 games in my opinion. Therefore, we no NCAA mess and a roster that I believe is now restocked, makes 2014 the baseline year for my confidence in Coach Golden - as right now I think both Golden apologists and detractors make strong valid arguments.
