2014 QB Morgan Mahalak has UM out front

**** this kid is the real deal... He can run and throw about the same size as Olsen. But stronger than Olsen. I love how Golden is recruiting... Im all in for this kid.. he is fundamentally sound... he doesnt stare down the WR. he will be a great pic up.

He looks like a stud. I'm surprised Fisch is on him. He must not be against adapting his offense to fit his skill set. The way he can run, he'd probably dominate at Oregon.

Did you see the Oregon shorts in the first vid?

The kids he's playing against look like they were picked from the local JCC.

The way Fisch acts and recruits I really think he's going to be around for a long time.

Concerning he didnt start at QB. I get that the guy in front of him is going to CAL. My concern is the experience and reps he needs to get to handle situations in-game. He's not getting those. You can do drills all you want, but doing it live under pressure is a whole different story

Like Town much better, saint bonaventure plays nothing but top competition in one of the toughest divisions in the SoCal

Dunno. If this offense explodes like everyone expects. . .

This guy is skilled for his age. Solid mechanics. Showed good velocity and accuracy on his throws. Poised. Good athlete, not great. (Competition is suspect.) I don't think he'll be a spread option QB at the next level. But, athletic enough to avoid the rush, escape the pocket and make plays on the run---ala Stephen Morris. May be suited for the pro-style. Needs to work on taking snaps from under center. Very good ball handler at this point; he freezes the LBs and DEs, sets up quickly and throws the seam with good location. Needs more velocity on the outs.

Smart that JFisch is on him this early. Good prospect to be so young.

That's when it's on the coaches to trust their evaluations of what he HAS put out on film and what the see in shorts and a T-Shirt.

We aren't going to be asking this kid to come in here and start from Day 1. Our QB depth is in position to absorb a guy that we think may have some upside, but may be a bit of a risk.

The good things about him, outweigh the bad I think. Irrespective of the competition, the kid is obviously an athlete, which helps with the repitition of your delivery, helps with keeping your footwork solid and he exhibits a good high release. Nothing mechanically wrong with him, throws a nice ball, and happens to have some zip.

And last but not least, this staff doesn't take shots in the dark. All the guys who haven't necessarily been on the national radar that we have recruited, suddenly gain some reputation when they get the UM offer, and there's something to be said for that. Happened with Bond and Figueroa in just the last 3 weeks. I'm sure Fisch knows this kid inside and out and with Fisch's pedigree, that's more than good enough confirmation for me

Im not on the practice field, but most reports indicate Dewey, Crow, and Williams arent exactly lighting it up. Thats the 3 (plus Thompson) theyve brought in so far

Meh. Nothing outstanding. Nothing terrible. Release is below average. Arm strength is below average. He isn't fast or explosive enough to be a running QB. Size is average.

We will do better than this. Sean White is better than him IMO.

How does he look, I can't watch streaming video on my work computer.

Recall when we were playing Kansas State and Jacory came up a yard short to win the game? Well Mahalak would have scored.

They're playing the senior quarterback, and likely rightfully so. Mahalek can thread the needle, and if receivers are covered, won't hesitate to run.

I like him.

Where is Sean White from?
