2014 Miami Hurricanes vs 2013 Auburn Tigers

It's what this fanbase has resorted to. Difference is, gus pulled it together a lot quicker than Golden. And he even walked into a program that just cleared the cloud.

Yeah…Auburn and Miami, totally similar situations for two coaches to walk into.

op great comparison.

If we can get some lucky bounces as Auburn did I think we can have the same magical run as they did.

You would. Difference is Gus is a coach. Golden has had three years to pull it together. This argument is apples and oranges.

Yeah because you can really compare a first year coach getting instant success over a coach who is going into his 4th year without sniffing the ACCCG.

Gus was on the Auburn staff, prior to being HC ... The Auburn staff that won a national title. He didn't walk into an unknown situation. And those recruiting rankings suggest he actually walked into a great situation. Plenty of talent on that roster.

And though Marshall was a DB, he played QB in high school and JUCO. He's far from Cam Newton, but still a good match of what Gus does on O.

Somebody post those Auburn defensive stats.

Yeah, nobody gripes that much about your rankings win you get enough wins.

With hindsight, if you ask every coach in the FBS which situation they would want to walk into, every single one says Auburn, including Golden. Still laffing about AU being under a cloud even remotely close to Miami's.

Lol at this. Even in 2001, coaches weren't lining up to take the job at Miami. So why would somebody take the Miami job with the ncaa starting their investigation over the Auburn job?
However, what would be a perk in hindsight would Miami have over Auburn?

I think you have confused yourself.

Actually he was at Arkansas St the year before, but dont let the facts derail your argument.

Lmao it was one season, but yeah, he stepped into a totally different situation after his one season absence. Don't let logic derail your argument.
