Last year no. 8 GA Tech swept through the tournament going 4-0 enroute to their 8th ACC championship beating no. 6 Miami in the championship game who went 2-1 in pool play.

IMO, first game against UNC is a must win if we want to be playing Sunday.

So the question is do we go with B-Rad or Diaz the first game?

I think B-Rad starts. Really need the wins against NC State and Clemson so expect Diaz and probably Whaley.

They both have been exceptional all year. B-Rad cooled off a little bit towards the end, but it's nearly impossible to stay as hot as a sub 1 ERA. There's almost not a wrong choice. Diaz has been our "ace" all year, starting game 1 of every series except senior night last week.

Interesting how you bring up Whaley for the third game. Thought that as well, he hasn't had a great year, but has been much better as of recent. Certainly has the experience as he pitched the third game of the ACC tourney last year for us, did a **** of a job, which was pivotal and got us into the championship.

Salas got rocked in the title game last year recording 4 outs...

I just hope they can hit the **** ball, and produce runs. The pitching isnt what I am worried about.

Yeah. Diaz started in our win against UNC but B-Rad wasnt available. Either way, like you said, you cant go wrong. I liked how Whaley looked against GT.

Agree with Luv as well, pitching probably wont be our issue. Need the bats to get hot and then stay hot.

I feel like we can win 1 and 2 is a possibility but I just don't see us beating those 3 teams in 3 games. Tough road.

BRad was bad against Wake and awful against GT.

Congrats to B-Rad for being selected to First Team All ACC.

Complete bull**** that Diaz was left out, not even on the god **** 2nd team. No way he wasn't a top 8 pitcher in the ACC. 2nd in ERA and 2nd in IP. COMPLETE ******* JOKE

Had a rough first inning against Wake in which he gave up 3, shut the door rest of the way. 7 IP, 3 ER, 10K, 6H, 4BB

Not good against GT, 5IP, 4ER, 6K, 5H, 4BB

Freebies are definitely a concern, but all in all not awful.

Interesting point CaneDaddy brought up about UNC facing Diaz and not B-Rad, wonder if that will factor into Jimmy's decision.

Also will be curios to see if Salcines gets a chance at all, has really cost us a lot of games this year. Pretty slim picking in the pen.

GT 4
F$U 3

F$U lead 3-2 top of the 9th. GT had two outs, then hit 2 consecutive HR's to go up 4-3. F$U out 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 9th.

Suarez starts and Whaley just brought in for mop up duty. What the **** Jimmy?

NEED TO WIN THIS GAME, who cares about other games if you lose this one.

Frustrating.
