2010 Recruiting Class - Where are they now?

2010 was a disaster of a recruiting class. What made it moreso was the shear volume of names thrown against the wall during the cycle, of which, very few stuck.

This is a hodge podge of names that were thrown around in some regard in 2010.

Of the players Miami DID get...

30 players.
16 still on the roster. 10 of which are starters (varying degrees of quality - five of which are offensive linemen FWIW).

A pretty bad class for a 30 team class.

Anyway...here is the list.


Quarterback

***** Blake Bell, Bishop Carroll HS - Chose Oklahoma. Now known as the "Belldozer"...he's one of the best short yardage players in the country.

**** Dallas Lloyd, Pleasant Grove HS - Chose Stanford. Went on a Mormon Mission. Now a backup QB for the Cardinal.

*** Jeffrey Godfrey, Miami Central - No offer. Chose UCF. Freshman starter at QB. And since, it has been quite the ride for Godfrey. Sometimes he is on the Knights. Sometimes he's off the team. Lots of racism thrown around in the interim. He is currenty a wide receiver for the Knights.

*** Andrew Hendrix, Moeller HS - Chose Notre Dame over Miami. Now a backup QB at Notre Dame.

*** Joe Brennan, Camden Catholic - Chose Wisconsin over Miami. Transferred to Towson and is currently a backup.

** Michael Strauss, Gulliver Prep - No offer. Chose Virginia. Transferred to Richmond. Is currently a backup.

** Jake Medlock, Duncan Fletcher HS - No offer. Chose FIU. Currently is FIU's starter. Throwing for 59.2%, 1207 yards, 6 TDs and 0INTs.


Runningback

**** Giovani Bernard, St. Thomas - Chose UNC. One of the best running backs in the country.

**** Joseph Randle, Southeast HS - Another of the "Kansas" specials from the Brown Brothers group that we recruited hard as an underclassman that didn't mean diddly poo. One of the best running backs in the country.

*** Brandon Gainer, Central - No offer. Chose Kentucky. Has since left the program and is now in Parts Unknown.

*** Jakhari Gore, Columbus HS - No offer. Chose LSU. Has since transferred to FIU. He should be a regular for the Golden Panthers next year.

*** James White, St. Thomas - No offer. Chose Wisconsin. A solid backup running back for the Badgers.

*** Jawan Jamison, Bolles School - One of the names that sprouted up from our fruitless endeavors in Jacksonville...no offer. Chose Rutgers. Is now one of the bright young stars of college football.

** Tevin Drake, Nature Coast Tech - Early interest, but no offer. Chose Western Michigan. Is a regular in the running back rotation for WMU.

** Devon Wright, Taravella - No offer. Chose Minnesota. A backup running back for the Gophers.


Wide Receiver

***** Christian Green, Tampa Catholic - Chose FSU. Currently a slot wide receiver for the Seminoles.

***** Chris Dunkley, Pahokee HS - Chose UF. Transferred to USF. Since been suspended.

**** Ivan McCartney, Miramar HS - Chose WVU over Miami. A contriutor for WVU. In the mix for more catches next year.

**** Kadron Boone, Trinity Catholic - Chose LSU. A key contributor and NFL Draft prospect.

**** Ricardo Miller, Pioneer HS - Chose Michigan. Contributor.

**** Kenny Shaw, Dr. Phillips - Chose Florida State. Key contributor for them.

**** James Louis, Atlantic HS - Chose Ohio State. Transferred to FIU. Look out for him next year.

**** Michaelee Harris, Northwestern HS - Chose Louisville over Miami. Contributor.

**** DeJoshua Johnson, Pahokee HS - Chose FSU, but went to JUCO. Couldn't catch on anywhere and now plays at New Mexico HIGHLANDS (yes, good ol NMHU).

*** Darius Millines, American Heritage - No offer. Went to Illinois. A mild contributor.

*** Ted Meline, North Miami - Highly regarded as a junior. Inked with Tennessee. Transferred to a JUCo. Ended up at North Dakota State. No longer on the team.

*** OJ Ross, Mainland - No offer. Chose Purdue with the rest of his teammates. A contributor.

*** Sean Tapley, Raines HS - Chose UNC. A key contributor, especially on special teams.

*** Quinton Dunbar, Booker T. - Chose UF. Starting to contribute.

*** Shawn Corker, Cardinal Gibbins HS - Chose Texas Tech. Doesn't really play.

*** Josh Reese, Central - Chose UCF. Contributor and part-time starter.

*** Ace Sanders, Manatee HS - No offer. Too small, too slow. Now one of the most electric little men in college football.

** Corvin Lamb, Northwestern - Went to Louisville. A deep backup.


Tight End

**** Gerald Christian, Dwyer - Chose UF. Transferred to Louisville. Will be in the mix next year.

**** Kevin Haplea, N Hunderdon HS - Penn State commitment. Transferred to Florida State. Blocking TE.

*** Alex Smith, Christian Bros - Chose Kentucky. Dismissed from team. Transferred to Georgia State. Mild contributor.

*** Charles Fashaw, Northwestern - Went JUCO. Plays at ASA. Very mild contributor.

** Chase Harper, Navarro CC - Chose Nebraska. Now at Texas State. John Mackey semifinalist.

** Kendall Montgomery, Pace HS - No offer. Chose Bowling Green. Part-time starter.


Offensive Line

*** Tavadis Glenn, Raines HS - Went to Milford Prep. Quit. Went to Jones CCC. No longer on the team. In Parts Unknown.

** Jonathan Ragoo, Pace HS - No offer. Chose Minnesota. Weight issues forced a transfer. Now at FAU.

*** Torrian Wilson, Northwestern HS - Chose UCF. Starter at Right Tackle for the Knights.

*** Jose Jose, Central - Chose UCF. Dismissed from team. Went to a JUCO. But, back at UCF, and has lost weight. Now playing defensive line. Part time starter.

*** Tramell Williams, Robert E Lee HS - Chose South Carolina. Redshirted and transferred to Alabama State. Not on the team.

Defensive End

***** Corey Lemonier, Hialeah - Chose Auburn. Considered one of the premier defensive ends in college football.

**** Lynden Trail, Booker T. - Chose UF. Transferred to Norfolk State. Still getting in trouble. But, a major contributor for Norfolk State.

**** Delvin Jones, Palmetto - Ole Miss signee. Dismissed from team after arrest.

** Jacob Wheeler, American Heritage - Brother of Jared Wheeler. Signed with Maryland. Reserve offensive tackle for them.


Defensive Tackle

***** Dominique Easley, Curtis HS - Chose UF over Miami. Starting defensive end and standout for Florida.

***** George Uko, Lugo HS - Chose USC. Starting defensive tackle.

**** Ego Ferguson, Hargrave MA - Chose LSU over Miami. Rotation defensive tackle on a deep unit.

**** Louis Nix, Raines HS - Chose Notre Dame over Miami. Standout nose guard.

**** Jeffrey Whitaker, Robbins HS - Chose Auburn. Two year starter so far.

**** Michael Thornton, Stephenson HS - Chose Georgia. Rotation end.

**** Brandon Willis, Byrnes HS - Transferred from North Carolina to Tennessee to UCLA all in the span of a year, then back to UNC. Transferred again. Now a rotation defensive end for the Bruins.

*** Todd Chandler, Northwestern HS - Chose USF. A key contributor for the Bulls.

*** Calvin Smith, Hialeah HS - Went to New Mexico where his dad was a coach. Transferred to Purdue. Was dismissed from the team after an arrest.

*** Richard Ash, Pahokee HS - No offer. A backup nose tackle for the Wolverines.

** Delmar Taylor, Miami Beach - Former commitment. Went to Navarro JUCO. Switched to OL. Committed to FIU for the 2012 class. Not currently on the team.


Linebacker

***** Alec Ogletree, Newnan HS - chose Georgia. One of the top linebackers in the country.

***** Jeff Luc, Treasure Coast - Chose FSU. Since transferred to Cincinnati.

**** Javarie Johnson, Dunbar HS - Former commitment. Chose Maryland. Left Maryland and now at New Mexico. Tore his ACL. Contributor at linebacker.

*** Ralph Williams, Southridge - No offer. Chose Ole Miss. Backup MLB.

*** Michael Taylor, Westlake HS - Chose UF. A key contributor.

Arthur Brown - One of the best linebackers in the country.
Bryce Brown - Non-existent college career...but a UDFA primary backup says he's a talented back.
Blake Bell - The Belldozer...obv.
Jayden Bird - Backup for Oklahoma
Joseph Randle - Top Running back in the country.
Chris Harper - Starting WR for K-State.
Huldon Tharp - Freshman All-American but got injured. Back returning to form a little bit as a RSJr for Kansas.
Riley Spencer - Reserve offense lineman for Kansas.

This was the class where Ethnic and a few others were *****ing about how things were going and people kept saying, "it's only July". Then it was, "It's only August"..."September"..."November"...etc. This was a disaster coming from a mile away. You'd have to be retarded not to see it.

What made it worse was after 2 or 3 years of Randy leaving spots open causing us to only have 81 or 82 players his first couple of years as coach, he finally decided to go full to 85 with this class and it was chock full of awful.

When you have a school like Miami have as many "targets" as they did in 2010, you know **** well that class is in the *******.

No school at this level has a target list that long with prospects from all over the country. It leads to a lot of misses and you end up opting for second, third, fourth choices. And by the time you get to the good players, those players are committed elsewhere.

Lots of folks were hating on this 2010 class from jump street.

This was the class where Stephen Morris was our 6th choice at QB and Morris had to compete in a camp against the likes of Strauss, Turner Baty, and Jake Medlock to get that offer lol.

Ended up with Allen Hurns after going through a **** load of wide receivers.

Front seven recruiting was awful and look at all of the top players we went through only to end up with Plan D guys like Jeffrey Brown, Delmar Taylor, David Perry, Kelvin Cain, Jimmy Gaines.

Brutal.
