2 things about the offense

That panicked scramble to the sideline with the clean pocket protection was the most maddeningly low IQ play I've seen him make. He even had to angle about 5 yards back to make it around the well-blocked DE. Unreal. Chicken with his head cut off out there.

The bottom line is Morris needs to make better decisions with the ball:

1. Throw the ball to our British Tight End.
2. He needs to also use the middle of the field more.

When he checks down to Coley early in the game we get a big play and move the chains. I know he can do this, he just has to do it more. I am one of his biggest supporters but he makes his job harder then it should be.

They also need to adjust the pre-snap routine. UNC watched the guard tap the center, delayed 1/2 second, then blow into the backfield. That will get Morris and our RBs killed against VT.

When we went hurry up the stretch play wasn't working at all. I sure wish we'd use more time.
I think UNC ran over 80 plays tonight or some **** (I know GT did).

We aren't going to last all season with those numbers. Oh & I can't stand mass substituting on defense. How do you get into any rhythm?

Yeah. Another plus for pounding the rock is ball control. Eat up some clock, keep the opposing offense off the field. Could be real important against FSU, especially if Winston is on.

Agree with this, we put the game on the OL's back and they came through, we need to do this more.

A inconsistant offense is not new to THE U. Any game we ever lost back in the day was becuase our QB had a bad day, or a defensive coodinator got the better of our offense. I can remember always feeling better when the defense was on the field than when the offense was(always worried about some turnover) The difference this year from the last ten of so, is that the D is closer to resemebling our old Ds. Our we they full of all those greats, maybe not yet. How many of you were thinking last night that is ST, rip, was out there, he would have smacked that TE in the mouth until he just stopped running routes over the middle? Okay, maybe we don't have him a Ed Reed yet, but by God these guys are looking capable of saving the O's bacon just like the old days. And last night we scored on a blocked field goal. When did we see that last.

Morris reminded me of Vinny in that PSU horor show. Thankfully, Golden or Coley had the sense to stop thorwing and keep sticking the ball in Crawford's belly. If JJ had been that smart against PSU and given the ball to Highsmiht 5 more times, we would have 6 rings. That said, we sure need a lot more offense in Tally.

Steven is exactly the player we've known him to be - feast or famine with him. He has the athleticism that every1one loves, i.e., he can make all the throws, but his decision making and poise remain huge issues. Our play calling makes it clear that Golden and Coley know the strengths and especially the weaknesses of our senior signal caller. Looking back at the uf game and how conservative we were on offense once we got a lead is demonstrative of this understanding. And last night that final drive was telling and also exactly what it needed to be.
