2 star HS DE (6-5/190) is now one of the top 2018 NFL prospects

I watched an interview of Jacksonville Raines HC, after they played Sandlewood, Jordan Miller's team. He mentioned that in all of his years being around football, both coaching and playing, he has never seen a more dominate defensive player, regardless of the position. This kid played at a small school until he transferred to Sandlewood for his senior year. He played some powerhouse programs here in Jacksonville during his senior year, in which he absolutely dominated every game.

Jennings, Jordan's HC, even mentioned that they would have to ask Jordan to tone it down in practice because it was hard for the offense to run through plays because he was that disruptive. Kool and Richt saw his tape on a Friday morning, made an offer by noon, and was in Jordan's home, in Jacksonville, by that same evening.

I can give two f'ucks about him only being ranked low 3*. Neither Briggs, Chatman, Goldwire, or Coburn, can hold Jordan's jockstrap.

He’s the exception, not the rule.

The lead DE terror above him in the draft was 3-star, 220lb LB with 1 SEC offer (to go along with 4 lower-level ACC offers. Are better evaluators @ WF/NC St/GTech and Duke?).

At the end of the day, most of these kids are still growing and there is no rule.

Everyone cant sell what Nick Saban and Swinney have to sell. Until then (which will probably be never),... either you trust the evaluations at hand, or you don't. When you can no longer trust a coach's evaluations,...you look for another one.

is what some of our fans will say, not recognizing that there are exceptions to almost every rule in life, even more so when it comes to evaluating humans and making predictions about the future.
Prove that they absolutely matter..

Here is another (DE) that will be a top 10 NFL pick this year and quite possibly a top 5 pick and was a 3 star recruit.

That's the guy I was talkin about,...not many offers from the Power-5 for Chubb,...7 total. Then we have VTech's 3 star guy, Tremaine Edmunds.

So the Top 3 pass-rushers in this year's draft -- at this point -- are 2 3-star recruits and this off-the-map former WR kid.

Why is it that facts get negged? It doesn't mean I didn't want Campbell. It does mean that perspective is still important.

Correct here is another (Charles Harris)- He was a 2 star in HS went top Missouri as a DE was excellent there and was a first round pick of the Fins.
These are exceptions true but there are a lot of exceptions out there.

I get it. I even agree. I think Miller may surprise a lot of us. That being said, you aren’t winning anything if you’re constantly bringing in 2 or 3 star players in the last minute of a class because you’re missing on others. Miami needs 4 or 5 stars, plus the 3 star players from SFLA who have high ceilings.

There are plenty exceptions.

Yeah, yeah, there are SOOOOOO many exceptions.

So since all of you "hidden gem" addicts are so brilliant, why don't you tell us RIGHT NOW about all of the 2-stars in the 2018 class who will be NFL first-round draft choices. Be specific. Give us the names.

Until you do that, I'm rolling with the star system. Bring me 4 and 5 star talent, and Miami will win, regardless of your desperate need for an occasional feel-good story.

Well yeah,....but 1st, we'll need to bring a QB that doesnt allow our season to completely collapse the last 3 games we have before NSD. For 17 yr olds, perception is reality.

Hopefully 1 of the 2 untested QBs we have is a legit option.

The guy that posted this about the 2 star guy at UTSA did NOT say this is common he states that "there are exceptions to the star system". Some of you need to understand inferences in the English language.

Guess I should have clarified. Moreso am talking about when our fans are upset that Bama and UGA pulled in multiple 5*, there are always one or two that always either bring up articles of 2* who made it or Ed Reed to justify not getting the same players.

A simple trip to 247Sports disputes this 2 & 3* vs 4 & 5* talk. Take a look at the 5* from 2010-2017. With the exception of a couple of kids, the majority of them played at a very high level. I just don't know why our fans love to dispel that 4 & 5* usually turn out to be elite players.

Didn't see anyone dispelling the obvious.
