1st- are facilities still killing UM in their recruiting efforts and ability to be a D-1 program?

2nd- and most importantly, where in the world is the Franchise/BurtReynoldsisBald? IMO, that's the greatest poster of all time when it comes to Miami Hurricane football posters. Seriously, I miss reading this guy, I thought he was hilarious and informative. And the guy knew his football.

I actually had a good relationship with the guy and tried reaching out to him but he went all Keysor Soze. Is he on any other forum? Or has he retired early, never to come back like Rocky Marciano( hopefully without the plane crash).''

This board would be perfect for him since it's run by guys who know how to have fun and possess an actual sense of humor.

'Chise, if you're out there, come back, you're missed

- oh, and one other things, Ive been watching the ESPNU All-Access on Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes( hey, Im a sicko, I know, but I love this stuff) and geez, say what you want, but the man can coach football and lead a program. It got me thinking, just how big of a competitive disadvantage was UM during this time having guys like Coker and Shannon during his run in Gainesville?

But oh, yeah, the facilities....

The only thing killing this team is the negative recruiting the Shapiro BS has afforded the opposition. Make no mistake, Golden would be killing it right now recruiting wise if not for the NCAA cloud.

The city of Miami more than makes up for any issues that a recruit might have with the facilities (which are more than fine BTW). Only thing that's hurting us right now is having to undo the damage Radio did.

k9, I swear I was going to post something similar about Burt/Franchise. The guy most definitely knows his football and has this brash yet incisive and insightful style that would fit very well here. Of course it would have to be the WEZ for the full uncensored Chise experience. I lost count of how many times he had me literally doubled over in laughter as he ripped into some troll who had it coming to him. He has to be be my favorite poster of all time. The dude is a legend for sure.

Hey 'Chise, if you're out there, come on back man. You have been missed and we would love to have you here.

He truly is the Ted Hendricks of posters as it relates to Canes forums. I still remember some of his one-liners....

If facilities mattered, then Oregon would be 1st in the nation in recruiting. 247 has Oregon ranked 75th in recruiting class.

Location>Facilities.

Crappier the school location. The better facilities you have to have.

I don't want kids who want nice facilities.
I want to spend money on having great coaching staffs.

In home visit with Golden automatically gives us a 75% chance at a kid (in Florida)

He just gets it. PAY HIM MOAR! MOAR MONEY FOR STAFF NOT HOT-TUBS AND FLAT SCREENS.

This and to add to what Showty said, we have a multi-million dollar athletic facility already being built, we just got new locker rooms if im not mistaken, and we play in an NFL stadium, which with the Marlins leaving should be a much better environment.

No its not a problem

I don't know if he would be down for the football board since we try to moderate heavily. However, him and Gables tag-teaming threads in the WEZ??? That **** would be awesome. I'd like for Materniak, ThisU, Nat, & Map to crawl out from their holes as well. There's only one other dude besides them that I'd like to see over here, but it will never happen.

Look at who he pulled in while under investigation. If the investigation was done for and over, Golden will be able to reel in top 5 classes year in and year out.

I don't think facilities are killing UM's recruiting efforts, *****, but I've always believed that since DS raised the entrance standards it has had an effect on recruiting.

It is interesting that you mentioned the Franchise. On canetime there is a thread regarding the old days of grassy, and I mentioned the Franchise being the man back then. I think he started "what have we learned today" threads. Dude certainly knew Cane football and Xs and Os. BTW, where is your boy from back in the day....SpiderCane? Spider was a big advocate of the spread offense (5 wide) during the Coker T days.

I agree , The Franchise was the man. Hopefully this place will be what Grassy was...
