Collins isn't anything right now because he hasn't done **** yet. Also when your team is fighting toothed and nail in just about every game they won last year then they are all big games. You're a ******* lie if before the VT game last year you felt like it wasn't a big game. Gtfooh with that garbage no big game.

you don't know what you're talking about and it was clear when you claimed that Collins would have more carries than anyone on our team. The same Collins who was sitting on the bench in the fourth qtr of a big game for his team while they were trying to milk the clock lol. I guess Paul James is a STUD also because he's #2 in the country in rushing. Collins played against some of the worst comp around the first three games that's why Collins and Ark starting RB Williams were putting up crazy#'s the first three weeks. Let's see if you're still doing the Alex Collins circle jerk a month from now.

can we stop with the Alex C*****s talk...guy aint here, he is on a bottom of the barrel team in another conference. Fug him and his supporters. Also some of our fans must be on crack....3 games into his soph yr and already criticizing and writing Duke off. He has made big plays in EVERY game this yr. Just cuz he doesn't not take it to the house every time he touches the ball does not mean he has fallen off. Duke is a game breaker that WILL get better. some of you all need to find another team to root for...i hear Arkansaw has openings

you're the same guy who has been arguing that Duke is just a "good" back because he hasn't done anything in "big" games. So based on Your criteria what has Collins done to make him a STUD?

So what if he's 5th in the nation in rushing yards? He's also getting a **** of a lot more carries. Duke averages 6.3 yds carry despite playing a top Florida defense that keyed on him after the first few runs, and only got a couple of touches against Savannah State (so no stat padding). Collins averages 5.6 yds/carry and his stats were padded by running 24 times against lowly Samford. In his last two games against actual major conference, though mediocre, teams he averaged well under 4.5 yds/carry. So tell us again what's so impressive about him?

And why don't I hear people calling him overrated after his performance in the Fiasco Bowl?

Willis didn't do much of anything against FSU either until the screen pass. You don't run on great defenses. It's their freakin hallmark. They don't allow you to run.

Three quick things:

1. Duke is a gift to us as fans and to the school as a player and person.

2. I don't give a **** about Alex Collins and really don't want to hear about him until we play against him, which probably won't ever happen.

3. Threads draped in negativity are painful and unnecessary. Having a great back would compliment Duke, just like having a second great back would compliment any good running back. Do we need multiple threads on how one of our best players needs help, lost a step, is not elite? --- I'm sure they exist already on other teams' message boards.

In case you forgot, we are 3-0 going into an instate game against a really down USF, instead of creating negativity around Duke, go google directions to Tampa and come watch the team knock USF's **** in the dirt and crush their soul.
 
Would love to see a breakdown this year of Duke's yards rushing from the I-back formation vs the shotgun. Hate the trapping type run plays out of the shotgun, seems like Duke cant get downhill like out of the I or single back undercenter
 
Gus seems like the perfect compliment to Duke. Based on the fact that he's got more carries than Crawford and Clements, I'm pretty certain that the staff agrees. Just a matter of picking up the playbook, pass pro, ball security, etc.

I think he will end up working out pretty well. I believe he mentioned in an interview that he needs to improve his technique and run lower. Great that he recognizes it, but it will take some time to where he doesn't have to think about it, and it just flows as part of his game.

Excellent points. I dont understand why people go into a PMS hissyfit when anyone mentions that Duke's strength is not as a between the tackles type grinder. There are different types of backs, doesnt mean Duke isnt elite, just means he is better utilized in some ways over others. I ABSOLUTELY think Duke would benefit by having a bigger power back alternating who can pound it between the tackles, letting him be the speed/home run threat.
