Honestly I don't know what to expect with VT or from US. VT is 16-6 (5-4). They're 3-2 in their last 5 and 6-4 in their last 10. They're 2-2 at home this season during ACC play. VT scores a lot of points and hits a high % of their 3PTs. VT has 5 players who average 10+ points per game. They're not good at rebounding 34.5 PG (238th) and besides Blackshear, they don't have a lot of size.

BPI: 29
RPI: 62
SOS: 61

VT scores 85.1 PPG (13th), allows 73.2 PPG (209th) and hits 40.2% of 3PT (21st). VT isn't some difficult opponent. They're capable of scoring a lot of points and hit a high % of 3 PTs. They average 23 3PT attempts per game and hit more than 9 of them.

Players to Watch: [Here are the 5]

Ahmed Hill: 14.4 PPG, 3.5 RPG and 1.1 APG
Justin Bibbs: 13.9 PPG, 2.6 RPG and 1.6 APG
Kerry Blackshear Jr. : 13.6 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 1.3 APG and 1.0 BPG [He is 6'10]
Justin Robinson: 12.4 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 5.9 APG and 1.4 SPG
Nickeil Alexander-Walker: 11.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG and 1.6 APG

Random Thoughts (all stats at home during ACC play):

- VT hit 28 3PTs on 94 attempts (30%)
- VT averages 73.75 PPG (81.0 PPG w/o the UVA game)
- VT allows 76.25 PPG

This is a winnable game and IMO our second hardest road game left. BUT if we play anything like we did against Pitt, it will be very difficult to win at VT.

Spread: TBD

I've went to Blacksburg a few times and watched us play up there, seen us win, seen us lose. When VT's good on their homecourt, it's with sloppy basketball and 1 or 2 guys get hot from deep. A lot of times, their big scorers go cold against us, and some benchwarmer comes in and plays the game of his career - mostly hitting 3's.

I think the keys for us are to use the high ball-screen game effectively to get easy buckets inside, keep the turnovers to an absolute minimum, and if one of their guys gets hot from deep - foul the **** out of them and make them think twice about continuing to shoot (>>>that's a lost art in today's game - use your fouls effectively). Trading 3 FT attempts in exchange for breaking a shooter's rhythm is not a bad trade-off. We have to be aggressive and organized on D.

We haven't won all our games in a weeks span since Christmas so this game could really springboard us on a winning streak and back in the rankings.

Very winnable game that would be a solid, quality road win for our resume and help us in the ACC standings.

We'll have to play a whole lot better than we did against Pitt to win up there. Excellent shooting team as OP said.

although Hokies have a high scoring average they opened the seaspn with a bunch of cupcakes. That said, we still have to come out strong on D. IBIS are smarter than Turkeys.

Blackshear vs Huell will be interesting.

VT has been shooting fairly well after their back to back losses to Cuse and UVA and are due for an off night. We should win this game if we hold them under 70.
