What good defenses have we played this year? Should of broke 100 vs FSU to if it weren't for refs sucking at their jobs

Apparently the 5 games from GT to ND where he avg 3 ypc.

As for the OP.

Not happening this week with NCST 4th rank rush defense. which will load to stop the run and will force Kaaya into panic mode early.

I would argue the last two defenses are more or less the same. ND and UNC's defenses are among the worst. He did miss some holes but let's not pretend that our oline wasn't putrid during that stretch
 
1000k yards for a so called role player. Well give me 10 more role players on offense please.
 
Anyone who can get 1,000 yards with that line is pretty good. Problem with Walton is he disappears against superior opponents.

He's only a year younger.

Tarzan against whimps, Jane against decent to good teams. Still leaving yards on the field due to his average at best cutting ability and he heads the wrong way often which makes him run into his blockers or tackles too often for my tastes.

Yearby is the better of the two When facing better defenses as he can make people miss better. Walton is the better in the opposite. Neither is a a big gamechanger or someone opposing teams fear greatly. Still wishing they would use both out of the backfield more, but that takes time which is something the OL hasn't provided a lot of most games.

That's more of a result of our **** O Line: Walton last few games has shown he can break tackles.

Walton affected by good DL, our OL isn't. Totally his fault.
 
The old statement about RB's not being good because they struggle against "good defenses" makes little to no sense.

All RB's struggle against good defenses. Good defenses stop the run. That's why they're good defenses. SMH LOL

The same things were said about Duke Johnson.

No RB puts up elite numbers against EVERY defense. And last time I checked, every RB not named Barry Sanders NEEDS ADEQUATE BLOCKING. Well good defenses are harder to block.

I think you make valid points but our RBs have done better disappearing acts than ninjas against good Defenses. That being said, we haven't faced the kind of Defense you're talking about. Have we even faced a top 10 or 20 D? To be fair to our backs, our OL has be horrific.

Well obviously that is true of every RB.

But Walton struggles more because he has such poor vision. He's great if the hole is there which happens frequently vs bad defenses. The 1st run of the game was a great example of his lack of vision, ran right up the back of OL despite having a clean lane to either side.

If we could combine Yearby's feet/vision with Walton's athletic ability we would have an elite back.

FWIW, I thought this game was Walton's best of his career.
 
I guess Fournette just disappears against Bama and is great against everyone else huh? That's the silliest thing I've read on here recently.

Then we need a similar game plan as used against Pitt. Get Kaaya into a rhythm early and run just enough to keep the defense honest.

Excellent point, tardiewrx.

Number 1 Bama with their 50 five stars shut down a one-dimensional offense, so that excuses Walton's 3 ypc against the multiple mid-level P5 teams.

Well done. CIS at its best.

Most of the anti-Kaaya guys were claiming the same thing would happen before the Pitt game. Pitt had a good run D and a good pass rush, and they were going to gimp Kaaya out.
