#14 on espn

is it just me or do we seem to always do better on espn than the other services ? seeing as how our teams have generally underperformed as of late I am not convinced their rankings are very good.

Our commits are rated higher on there. Scout really is bullsh*ting Miami's class. On 247 Miami has the 7th highest average recruiting ranking at 90.38 it is actually over fsu's as well. Most programs ahead of us have 20 plus commits, once Miami fills the class we will be in the top 10 if we close well
The ranking system is off if its based off the number of recruits...ex. my team has 84 of 85 scholls already filled i have room for 1 and i use on the number 1 punter in the nation... i did good i can't help that i could only take 1 and it happens to be an 83.3 ranked punter...they need a new algorithm. ..

While the number of kids you have room for matters, that is a spectacularly poor example. If you only sign one kid, you don't have a good recruiting class regardless of the reason or the quality of that one recruit.

I am hoping...reeaally hoping, that between Kuligoski's coaching, and Diaz' aggressive defense, that DT's will be attracted to Miami again. It's been years since the last no-miss DT.

I think we are going to see that change in the '17 cycle unfortunately. I wouldn't be surprised if we either strike out or bring in a project type DT. Though Coach Kools greatest attribute is developing talent. I wonder if he gets frustrated trying to talk kids into coming and they're on the fence because our recent past.

Depending on the year, the service that has us ranked highest is legit as **** while the service who has us lowest sucks goat balls. It's been that way since recruiting sites took off.

I think Rivals is generally considered the standard

They have the best track record of predicting future success

The guy who founded Rivals sold it and started 247. Rivals lost a lot of veteran scouts, etc.

ESPN has been pretty **** good.

Regardless of what site you look at... you can usually look at who is offering/visiting the kid to get a good idea of his talent. There are always exceptions to that rule, but these coaches usually do their homework and have more inside info than a scout from rivals or ESPN.
Stupid not to include a :not compete clause".

There was for a couple of years...

We will be top 10 just off reeling back in Ahhmon Richards. Never mind if we grab guys like RDavis, JWim, RFinley, EStove or any of the other DTs that might still be in the picture. (mainly KSmith) And this is a very small class compared to what we will haul in next year IMO.

I have to say...most coaches who get thrown into a job with only a month or so recruit..most people just chalk that class up to them being too late to the party. (like Haughbah last year)..but Richt has somehow salvaged this class to the point where this could very well be his worst ranked class of his tenure here when we look back years from now... And there are PROGRAM changing players in this class! I love recruiting and this has me very excited for the future.

This. Given that Richt couldn't do anything till after the bowl game and the mess he must have inherited internally this seems like a great job. Layer on top of that that AG seemed to distance himself from the So. Fl. high school scene or at least not play it very well...Richt is off to a great start.

They rank HS kids, not how a coaching staff will develop or utilize those kids.

^This.

More importantly we have quality scheme and play-calling. Kids will respond to that.

C'mon man. He was making a point, and it's a good one. Maybe a better example would be usc 2013. 247 has them with 3 5* and 8 4*. 11 kids is a tiny class, but who recruited better? They filled EVERY spot they had with 4/5* talent, so how can you rank somebody ahead of them?
