'13 JUCO DT Toby Johnson

The kid basically said he wanted to visit a Mississippi school (either MSU or Ole Miss), a Florida school (either us or UiF), Nebraska, and already took one to Oklahoma.

Obviously the Mississippi and Florida schools should consider themselves on the outside looking in.

Ole Miss and Miss State are very JUCO friendly schools...and...they pay well.

I was going to post the exact same thing Larry. It just feels like Georgia is in the lead, Nebraska definitely has a shot too, but he wants a back-up plan.

No matter what, he ain't going to be a Cane.

What I would rather see us get is a Markus White type guy on the edge. I know we need help everywhere but I still think McCord is a ways off from being a pass rusher and we need someone who can step in right away and create havoc on the outside.

While this is great (getting Bostwick and Bryant), it doesn't help us in the immediate future. Our current problem at DT is our youth, bringing in more youth doesn't fix the problem short term (2013).

So bringing in Quality JUCO DT would help just that. I want Bostwick and Bryant in this class, just hoping for some Quality JUCO DT and DE.

Don't get me wrong, DT is problem 1B. I just think we have a more glaring issue at DE (if that's even possible I guess).

Not trying to demean our DT problems I just think we have some nice youth at DT if we get those guys. We need a disruptive force on the outside desperately. There's not one guy on defense that OCs have to account for.

Guess in should explain part of my thinking is because I don't think Johnson is much of an upgrade over Bryant for next season. Bryant is going to play a lot and will make an impact.

Someone has to give Chick some help.

I feel like there is mad **** on every campus.

And up until this thread, I never heard Ole Miss mentioned for the amount of talent y'all are claiming. Not saying that I don't believe you but I usually hear of schools like ASU, FSU, Texas Georgia. Ole Miss is never really brought up though.

My Auburn friend told me that was the stigma about Ole Miss. Hot girls in sun dresses.

That 30 for 30 mentioned something about it last night. Ole Miss produced two miss americas in a row in the 60s so there was an influx of "leggy blondes" into the state looking to win a pageant, and it's still evident in the gene pool today.

We have big problems at both, I agree that there is not person on the line to account for.

It´s easy to say "We need a top JC D-Tackle". But there just aren´t many, and very rarely are they interested in Miami. Even more rarely are they qualified to enter the university. Combine those three factors and you have....a pipe dream. All this talk of Juco DLs being imperative to the class (started after the KSU blowout) has had me shaking my head.
