We need a win on Thursday BADLY!!!!!!

Golden making excuses ****es me off though. I dont want to hear about how young we are.

And is he really using Texas Tech as the standard for a good team
Jus cause you dont wanna hear it doesnt mean its not true FWIW

It might be true but its sort of overstated at the same time. In today's college football just about everybody is young, kids go where they can play early.

And if you think about it, all future NFL players (which is the standard at Miami) get on the field early. Think about all the studs in the draft the past few years and see how much of them played as freshman, 90% of them did. Nobody stays in college 4 years anymore, if you're good you'll start early.

What a piece of **** post.

Until the entire 2 deep is made up of 6th year redshirt seniors who were all awarded an extra year for medical hardships, we will never win more than 7 games. We're almost there!

That's all good and well, but that doesn't mean that because a couple of studs are playing early it will make up for the fact that we have a bunch of upperclassmen that aren't so good.. which of the top 25 defenses has a two deep similar to ours? i'd be surprised if there was even 1.

Agree, the house cleaning has taken a while and it's not over yet. We will continue to have to play young kids, they make mistakes. Feel like Golden is simply stating the truth.

Don't really care to do the research but last year UF started 7 true sophomores and 2 true freshman and had a top 10 unit.

My whole point is Miami aspires to be elite correct? Well elite players play as freshman. Go back as far as you need and look at the 1st-3rd round picks, they all played early, the good ones do. So just because a team is young isn't necessarily an excuse to be sucking.

That question is relevant how?

The whole point was that youth doesn't= bad. UF's defense was elite and they were very young. Now the team record was bad, but of course there's more than 1 unit on the team.

Do you disagree with my premise? Can you name past NFL Cane players that didn't get meaningful minutes as freshmen in some capacity? The good ones play young and produce.

wilfork, winslow, s. taylor, gore played sparingly as frosh. the whole premise is usuualy a team will have jr./sr. mixd with good, nfl talented frosh and soph. read the herald article one of worst upperclss in um history

recent hankerson, streeter,lamar miller,

what about ahmed black, rainey, denote thompson did they make impact as frosh throw in giseleee

Keep in mind that was the most talented team in college football history, yet they still played. On any other top 10 caliber team any particular year they start as freshman, you're kinda proving my point. If you're aspiring to win championships (which Miami is) then NFL talent will be on the team which means they'll play early...because all the good ones do. That said, I do agree with you that there's usually a core of upperclassmen too which Miami doesn't currently have.

This is dumb. Championship defenses are always junior and seniors. UF won 6 games last year.
