1 on 1s wrs vs dbs throwback

Yea we need Deon back to 100% and he said he feels better now than he did all season so he should be ready to go by fall and we need our corners to jam at the line like he did push the receivers to the sideline lol

That **** doesn't work in real football.

And that's why the way they run those combines is retarded.

Yea and I'm not trying to be funny but he was practically holding the guy... Deon's Achilles heal has always been coverage... He's fast, athletic and can tackle but he leaves a lot to be desired in coverage... He needs to improve along those lines... You don't necessarily have to grab your opponent to jam them at the line...

This was the first time i seen Stacy Coley and i was like D@mn this kid is the truth. Glad he came. I hope Deon can return to that Form. my goodness we need him to be just that.

He was a CB in those clips, he can't jam WR's from the S position.

He's someone who has to be put in the position to come downhill or essentially quick coverage decisions. Minimize the need for anticipation and processing information. He'd look like a monster in, for example, VTech's scheme as a Rover. In this way, he'd be likely to play the passing side of the formation and, because that position often doesn't have to fill the gap (if I remember correctly), he'd be given more freedom to flow to the football.

For those worried about run support, he'd mostly be flying up field and forcing the ball carrier back inside in this type position. Basically, he'd be able to play fast, free and [more] aggressively. Foster's had a number of variations of his original defense, but I trust he'd use Bush strengths well.

Curious what others think. I've never really seen Deon play Centerfield consistently well. In HS, for whatever reason, he was up and down (despite his crazy athletic superiority). I guess he can play there, but I'd prefer to use him differently.

I wouldn't mind seeing Burns play some centerfield as well.

he did in the Wake game i believe..i just remember smiling ear to ear when seeing him back there and Lil Highsmith out.....

Burns is a early rd cb prospect though.....theres a reason Saban was all over him...he knew he was a plug n play guy.

Alot of big DB's who aren't great in coverage go to these combines and simply press everybody. They try to maul WR's on the line because they can't cover. And because the field is infested with slapdick "coaches" and handlers nobody teaches the kids that you shouldn't be pressing/jamming with two hands in the first place. Combine that with the fact that WR's are allowed to improvise their routes and you wonder why these kids are raw as **** when they get to college.

Agree, He's more of a SS than FS, and allowing him to play a Rover position like Bill Young wanted out of one of the S positions he would be an animal.

Bud Foster, man would I love that type of defense.

I think he comes across as a little stiff in that video.

As a Cane he's done well when he's been on the field. Sadly he's been bitten hard by the injury bug. Going forward I think he's a SS.

Yea I totally agree... I noticed that as well... I seen footage the other day of these 1 on 1's and I'm like what routes are they running... It look like the wideouts were dancing at the line of scrimmage before he actually went into his route... The corners was totally selling out by trying jam or either they were playing like 20 yards off the guy... I'm like where's the coaching... As for Deon, I always liked him but as I seem him play at the U, I always noticed his flaws regarding coverage... You can't hold at the line of scrimmage like he did in that footage.. I'm afraid he was able to get by due to his athleticism... Hopefully he improves his coverage this year...
