He is too slow and lumbering. He blocks out the sun, but he can’t move and he doesn’t anchor well. He might be an NFL guy on profile, but he’s not going to lock down that edge. Remember - we won’t have Ward next year, who saved us from multiple sacks with his elusiveness and pocket movement.
some of the reason cam ran is because he chose to and didnt see open wr's.

Our OL will still have: Bell, McCoy, Rodriguez, Cooper & Mauigoa at minimum so I have faith in the OL

At DL we will return: Bain, Lightfoot, Blount, Pickett, Bryant, Horton, Scott, Jones + Adding Lowe & Scroggins

LB we will return: Pruitt, Hayes, Aguirre, Bissainthe, Washington and add Nix & Possibly Alford/Wiley

At DB we return: Williams, Patterson, Frederique, Brown, Hill, Day, Thomas, Mack, Stafford & add Stubbs, Fitzgerald, Ewald & Antione + Pickett/Hanks POSSIBLY

At WR we return: Horton (?), Trader, Carr, Robinson, Joseph + Moore/Upshaw & POSSIBLY D Wilson

TE we return: Lofton, Williams, Carver + adding Schott/Gilbert

RB we return: Lyle, Fletcher, C Johnson, Wheatley-Humphrey (doubt Allen stays) & we add G. Pringle

Depending on our portal hall/flips we will have a younger but still very talented team. Last year at this time 2024 didn’t look so great. If Mario can add: 1 WR, 1 OL, 2 DTs, 1 DE, 2 Safety, 1 CB, 1 RB for depth and can get a proven QB then we are cooking

just get George/Harris TF outta here
You forgot to mention one important factor:

We return Mario Cristobal as head coach!

Hey but we also Return the best offense out of the 3! (Also the worse defense…)

funny enough our offense lost us the game with that restrepo fumble

The culture in the defensive room is bad IMO, and there are no leaders. 🤷🏻‍♂️
what gets me is Day is the first guy down field on ST and makes plays yet can't sniff the field. Pruitt makes a huge play and you take him out rest of the game. Barron had a very good start and you sit him. Yet Jaden, Porter, and Kiko are targeted and cost us and they play the most and there is no repercussions. Guidry is just in over his head.

bothers me even more guys like Day and Bobby play with passion and fire, make plays but dont get back on the field meanwhile older guys sleepwalk through the entire game

popo is EVERYwhere. Always around the ball and we have Kiko getting torn apart. Kiko NEVER blows a play up.
Those Bobby Washington the LB is another one who plays hard, just seems to struggle putting on weight.

Guidry has to go. This moron plays Marley Cook over Justin Scott. it's crazy.

I was not a fan, there were issues last year with communication and alignment. The guys have regressed even more in his year two. I see this more as a coaching/teaching problem. The safeties look confused and the corners are lost as well. Too much thinking and a lot less playing. The Db coach was solely brought in for scheme purposes. There has not been much development. Wasn’t a fan of that hire either. That was disaster of a decision. Not everything can be thrown on the athletes. That excuse can only be used so much. I can say I’am extremely shocked with Mario being apart of Saban’s tree that he is accepting this. Mario needs to be Oregon Mario, bama Mario. Right now it just looks like paycheck Mario
Guidry should be gone no way u can bring him back after fielding the worst defense in program history

Seems like Guidry is the “my way is the only correct way” kind of guy and won’t listen to other voices in the room.

The QP of your post stanned for Dorito lmfao
Yes. We saw it with Dorito, Manny and now Mario.

We are seeing a turn.

We see it on the basketball board --- people with inside view changing their previously optimistic tune, now that the season is going poorly as they move blame in different directions. Previously unmentioned cancers are appearing - we are a blowout against Arkansas from having "an assistant coach pulled a gun on my family" rumors swirling against the Coach L camp...

So coaches playing favorites -- even in the House that Mario Built.

Rinse. Repeat.

Don’t forget watching Mesidor drop into empty space..how many throws did McCord drop over his head.

I wish I knew what went on behind the scenes of defensive game planning, I can’t wrap my head around it. You have to actively sabotage to be as bad as we are on D.

New poll- #14
5…2 loss or more teams ahead of us. Some will lose Conference games.
Bama has 3 losses…

Are you under the false impression that we are completely eliminated from cfp contention?
i honestly don't know what they will do. There's been so much talk about Alabama and other SEC teams with three losses - quality losses, mind you - that I couldn't guess what will happen.

I wonder how the team will handle it if Miami DOES get a spot. Will the defense come to play or are they checked out already?

Well yeah we don't know, but as I already said, the last CFP spot is 100% determined by Clemson winning, and if they lose it will be Us, Alabama, South Carolina, or Ole Miss. IF South Carolina didn't have a loss literally to Bama and Ole Miss I'd 100% bet on them being in. If Bama didn't have the Bama name, I do not think they would even be in over Ole Miss. Meanwhile Ole Miss has more losses than us and 1 common opponent who they lost to and we blew out - Both on the Road. This idea that we are clearly out of CFP contention is plain wrong. I'd bet we have better than a 25% chance. Probably not quite 50%.

Will out D show up? no they haven't all season. By styles make fights. And it'll be about who we play. If we play Utenn, I think we have a good shot. We play Ohio St? Probably a blow out tbh.

**** loss but can’t say I am surprised. I had us at 10-2 at the beginning of the season so guess I can’t be too disappointed if I’m being honest with myself.

Really had hoped these guys could have found a way to gut out this **** game but it is what it is.

We need to move on from Guidry. Whatever he’s trying to do ain’t working. Do we need better talent on Defense - yep. But we don’t need 11 five stars to beat Syracuse.

Mario needs to make sure his young pups on Defense from 2023 and 2024 are ready to contribute in 2025 or we’re taking a step backwards. Hope they will be ready.

Our CB's were getting killed in press-man coverage. Porter, Brown and OJ showed poor press technique. Retreated, didn't stay in front of the WR's release, got shook at the line, didn't get their hands involved... just all around bad CB play. I know everybody's in the mood to bag on the coaches or the play calls but sometimes it is the kids.
CB is the toughest position on the football field (athletically) and some losses are to be expected... but they were getting beat like a drum. There's only so much a DC can do about that...especially if the offense's formation dictates 1-on-1 coverage outside.

Need an influx of DB talent ASAP.

why do you think that is? too many transfers who are only concerned with themselves? No respect for Guidry and his defensive scheme? Just no chemistry? I honestly wonder how many of them watch film and really put any work in.
Could be a combination of things.

Lack of continuity or chemistry among staff and/or players.

Signs of favoritism frustrating some of the players and creating distrust for the coaches.

Finger pointing.

Players not "F'ing with" the coaches. (poor player/coach chemistry)

This is all pure speculation because I have no info. I do know the offensive room is very tight though.

I do know this though...
If you go the entire course of a season and the on-field performance isn't getting better (but worse)...that usually means that the room is a mess.

A group of men rowing the boat in the same direction would yield improvement.
