I think this info is only for Canes Connection members but check the thread below this titled “Malachi Toney”

I’ll delete if this is too much info, mods
Its on instagram

If I were a major recruit and thought I was as good as anyone, would be hard to turn down Bama after watching that game in person. That was as big time as it gets in college football. It was what Miami/FSU used to be.
How is Smith doing with the semenholes?

Couldn’t care less about the decomm. We need start prioritizing more WRs over 6ft.

Time to use some more NIL and go grab another teams top WR commit.

It’s time we try to get one of Auburns guys and return the 30 year favor.

Oregon dropped the bag

Who is the QB next year? These kids may not like what’s in that room for the future
Who is Bama’s QB next year, Milroe will be gone. Kid got payed and caught up in the visit hype.

Ohio State didn’t have a QB committed when Jeremiah Smith signed with them. Milroe could barely complete a forward pass last year yet Williams signed there. Who is Oregons QB gonna be next year after Gabriel graduates? It seems we’re the only ones who have to deal with this nonsense.

I’ve read on here, and heard outside, that Miami is looking to lock up size in this class to complement what they already have in Carr, Trader, and Joseph.

Toney is my third favorite guy this class.

But his skill set is duplicated with Upshaw who is my #2.

Still wanted him in this class, so I am disappointed.

“I need to see Miami on the field” - South Fl kids….
Miami starts the season 5-0 and ranked top 10 with one of the best offense in the nation, still decommitt

Only South Florida kids lol and then mentions Florida St as a potential landing spot

There's definitely layers to this. Think this is a matter of Miami not valuing ($) him as a '25 kid now as much as he values himself. He's probably negotiating to get more NIL than we had allocated for him since he was a '26 kid. Or maybe he knows we have a significant $$$ of NIL set aside for a true WR1 and he thinks he's worth that when Mario would rather hold it for a specific one or 2 kids he thinks is worth it.

Either way this kid is good and I hope he's in this class but he's not a JJ or Ryan Williams type talent.
