It's exhausting but sign me up. I already have an exhausting job and I won't make 8 million in a decade. All of these coaches should be working full days, every day.

You do realize that these deals are made often before a player even enters the transfer portal.
My comment was tongue in cheek - I'm sure you picked up on that. Literally anything would be better than what there is right now. There are no rules or regs; just greed. I mean I get it. I also can't say I would be any different. Zay was probably making mid money and now realizes he has the leverage. Again I get it from his side (or any player looking for a payday).
Thing is, the fans pay. They pay to collectives, they pay higher ticket prices, and they pay emotionally. One of the things that makes sports great is the emotional connection between fans and teams, which generally happens through the players. Ask any 6 or 7 year old kid wearing a glove at an MLB game who his favorite player is and the kid will undoubtedly spit out a name. Same thing with football, hockey, basketball, etc. That concept is evaporating rapidly and it's just sad. What do I tell my kid when he opens his Isaiah Horton jersey on December 25 and Zay just committed to Georgia or Alabama?

Everybody was blaming JG3 for the Syracuse loss despite balling out. I've quietly never spoke on Horton Hears a Hoo's massive untimely drop. Cost us the game.

Seriously though, having no salary cap while offering two periods a year that players can leave/threaten to leave obviously isn't sustainable. There needs to be some regulation on the total dollars end, the length of time before a player can leave, or both.
I think two things are true here, which I was trying to get at with my porsts with @Calinative :
1. The current system sucks and is unsustainable, and Horton and his agent are simply rationally exploiting to their benefit (as they should)
2. Horton would have a lot less leverage had Horton not been the only WR in Mario's first 2 classes who is still here and contributed anything of note and had we recruited and kept a better QB in those first 2 classes than Emory Williams

Be careful though, the capitalism bros will come for your head, as if any of us aren't advocating for kids to get paid. I absolutely think they should be. But the current way we're doing all this is really bad.

Wouldn't be that bad if it was limited to 1 transfer and then a sit out for the 2nd one or something.

The timing of the transfer portal window is insane. At the very least it should be after bowl games ... maybe concurrent with the February signing period. The entire scenario has become a circus, and not enjoyable for sure.
