Vanderbilt Safety Savion Riley transfers to Miami

Miami added their second commitment via the portal in as many days, as Vanderbilt safety Savion Riley announced his intention to transfer to the Canes.

The product of Kennesaw Mountain HS in Georgia is listed at 6-2, 202 pounds and recorded 48 tackles for the Commodores this season. Safety is a major position of need for Miami after losing starters Kam Kinchens and James Williams to the draft.

So it's safe to assume the WV DB is more of a free safety if he's Kam's replacement.Or the plan could be Jaden Harris replaces Kam and this kid and the WV safety compete for Williams spot.Fun spring ahead.

Welcome to Miami! Looks like a very solid player with the ideal build for the strong safety position.

James Williams most the most stressful player to watch in the last decade for me. I love that he chose Miami, represented the hometown team and will cheer for him in the league. But he was a risk for personal foul penalty way too often for my liking.

Nobody really knows. The kid was only a freshmen last year and played in just 8 games and started 2. High volume of tackles in those games so that says he is active and has a nose for the ball. Has good size and looks to be physical
