We are not a good red zone offense. The numbers are the numbers and it’s a fact and what you hit on is spot on.

And like Roman pointed out in his video, GT ignored Miami tight ends. They went straight in to play the run. We became predictable off a bye week preparation. Mind boggling.
The last point is something I have been harping on all year. if you don’t ever throw to the TE’s you are telling the defense the play with your personnel grouping. If McCormick can’t catch then keep playing Williams. I don’t believe Arroyo will be healthy this season.

Even if Arroyo were "healthy" would he get more than 1 or 2 targets? Wasting a spot on the field is dense.

TVD, you have the opportunity go balls-out the next 6-games and wipe away the stank of your past performance.

We will see Arroyo for a few plays vs UL, NCST and BC.

It's disturbing how I'm seeing the same white knighting for Dawson as we saw for Gattis. How many times did we see someone claim, "It's not Gattis's offense, WRs were running free all night."

The fact that a D Coordinator with 3 days experience was able to make TVD so uncomfortable in the pocket is a bad sign.

It's suggests to me that Dawson gameplanned based on the tendencies from the previous DC, but he couldn't tailor the offense when the D came out with a totally different strategy than he expected.

Basically it's the old story that his philosophy is to force the defense to adjust to him rather than to adjust his offense to what the D gives him. Given the often lamented predilections of our HC for "tuff and fisical" football, it's not particularly surprising.

But TVD, to me, is just an above Avg College QB that depending on the defensive scheme he is facing, can become really bad. He’s lucky he didn’t have 5-6 INTs vs GT.
🎯

Once people realize this and lower their expectations they won’t get so emotional and overhype his good games and wont be surprised by his bad ones lol

I said it before the year too, thats why i was hoping we get some dynamic playmakers. When u have an ok qb u gotta surround him with elite scheme and weapons, like fsu did with travis, oregon did with nix, louiville qb,hendon hooker last year **** even purdy in the nfl lol.

He is just missing something. That special something that makes him a CANE. No swagger(I hate that word lol), no bravado, most of the time bleh personality.

Hope TVD looks their way.
this narrative is ridiculous. The three of them have the lion's share of catches. Last weekend, George was useless. He certainly didn't have a good game.

Guys had targets and dropped balls.

TVD goes to X because he's reliable. He gets open and he catches virtually any ball sent his way. He moves the chains

People have been looking for a #1 receiver - the go to guy who gets it done. You have someone who does that and because it isn't who the fan base wants, they complain. unreal

Exactly. Put any qb in America here and they’d go to X the same. Because he gets open , RUNS THE RIGHT ROUTES and catches everything. He’s reliable.

As for Tvd “ being a one read guy” that’s been proven false repeatedly in breakdowns when he goes through three progressions. His biggest issue is he expects something to be open in pre snap so he will stare it down. Rather than coming off. When the coverage isn’t what he expects he occasionally will force it still. Which is still unacceptable. There’s a difference in being a one read guy and locking on to guys when he expects something. I don’t think some understand that.

Lastly Dawson was a lot of the issue as well Saturday, TVD was off early and his feet showed he was unsure. In the first half Dawson had way too many deep shots drawn up when GT was obviously sitting back. Way too many corners / posts drawn up. We should’ve been using outs, hitches , curls , slants and other quick game until they got out of it, In the second half they were a tad more aggressive.

Their DC had him and TVD off all night. It was like we expected to run the ball at will and hit deep shots. Once that didn’t happen there was no answer. The O was very basic like M of O. Nothing was exposed but more of an awful , kinda arrogant game plan.

Agreed, very arrogant. As a team who doesn’t chunk it down the field running the ball and isn’t good in the redzone it was a very, very bad gameplan. No run diversity either. We expected to roll them and it was obvious from the jump

Wonder if them having a new DC threw Dawson and TVD off. They had no any film or expectation of what he’d come with

we coached w ego and arrogance when we didnt earn that right to overall. hopefully they learn from it going forward as the schedule gets tougher

Imo not much. I honestly think they expected to run at will. Like 7-8 yards a pop stuff. GT has been close to the bottom of CFB versus the rush and we’ve been really good. I also believe Dawson / Tvd got very impatient. Because the run was there albeit not as explosive as expected.

Disgusting, but the lack of targets is even more gross.
I know tvd missed Riley I think int he end zone on one play, but overall, we dont use the TEs much imo. ive said that this is the offense. there is no saving the playbook BS we tell ourselves. it doesn't mean its a bad offense bc it clearly isnt. now that we play better teams, lets see how we look offensively. no more cupcakes on the schedule. defensively, I have zero concerns tbh. Guidry has been outstanding and so has Dawson up to this point

Riley also dropped a perfect pass that would’ve been a big play
