Is Cam Davis close to him? Have him get on him!

Did these “2-3 top level backs” sign already for 2020? We are ok with not taking a kid THIS YEAR because some kids MAY sign with us in 2 years? That usually works out.

My bad, you're right. Cancel the 2019 season right now.

Is there something else going on that you need to talk about? Depression is not to be trifled with. Talk to us, bro.

And let me break it to y'all talking about IF Homer leaves...

Travis Homer is playing his last season in a Canes uniform, starting this Sunday. Next season, he'll be playing every Sunday for an NFL team. Just accept that fact now and enjoy watching the man work.

The guy only had 25 Carries in the first 4 games and still finished with 966 rushing yards while starting 9 games. He’s going to have a **** of a season and you know he’s going to test off the charts in terms of combine testing. Saw Todd mchshay has him very high #45 overall right now in his rankings

I can’t even begin to figure out how you took away cancelling the season from what I said so I’ll just sit this one out. You got it big dawg.

ever since McIntosh ran a 4.8 I lost interest in him.. Yearby was decent but do we really need yearby 2.0?

People freaked out when we didn’t get Anthony McFarland and then within the next 2 weeks of that got a 5 Star rb Lorenzo Lingard and 4 Star rb Camron Davis to commit. Same situation with Mckitty and ended up upgrading vastly with Brevin Jordan and will Mallory. Some misses are blessings in disguise

Exactly!!! This recrooting **** aint for the faint of heart, bruh

I know there are already threads for Daniel Carter. But just for someone who hasn't watched much of either of Wright or Carter, how do they stack up to each other? Are they similar type backs at all?

McFarland is poised for a big season this year at UMD. We'll see how things pan out in due time. Davis is going to be a great player.

Im complaining about the philosophy overall. I personally don’t care if we only end up with Crowley, we more than fine at RB . This has nothing to do with perfection. That Tai dude who committed to Clemson was ready to come here and we completely ignored him to laser focus on MJJ who committed to Penn State. I just don’t understand what kept us from recruiting both of them .

Maybe they don't like him. Doesn't mean they are right, but that is their assessment. If the kid wants to sit 2 to 3 years behind Lawrence than so be it. Because Dabo is all in with Lawrence.

You are correct. Some misses in fact end up helping us out but what does that mean exactly? Does that mean it will always work out? Do I think it’s the end of the world if we miss on McIntosh/Wright and don’t sign a second back? No, not at all. We will be fine with or without them.

My issue is now we are doubling back on Wright when we never should have cooled off of him in the first place. This is recruiting, **** happens and with all of the experience on this staff and kids ******** us in the past, you would think this staff would know how to play this and keep a kid warm simply because you never know. That’s all I’m saying. Now they will have to work twice as hard to get out of the Wright hole if he is in fact scorned over us cooling on him. God forbid he signs with UF because they have recruited him hard the whole time and we have to hear how they beat him for us which would be true if we decide to double back on this kid.

And all of you all saying “eh we don’t need another back anyway” well the staff obviously disagrees or this wouldn’t even be a topic anyway.

Yeah, my comment has nothing to do with Wright specifically. I have no idea if he's Miami caliber or not. I'm just saying, if the staff wanted him as a backup plan, they have to recruit him all along as though he's important. ****, even if they didn't want him as a backup plan, we have to have the people and resources to at least polite recruit the local kids so that kids, parents, coaches don't feel like we are "dissing" them.

Some of it is prima donna stuff, and yeah, we get held to a different standard, but it is what it is. You don't get ****ed at the rain for getting you wet, do you? That would be pointless. You accept that is how the world works and you plan accordingly.
I get that and i agree the way they went with this did look bad but no matter what they would've looked bad because if they prioritized only Mac they'd get ripped because Wright wants in. If they're honest he's hurt because he'll feel like the injury scared them and they're not loyal and obviously we see what this scenario has done. Fact is every year even when they do nothing wrong at least one recruit will make it seem like they're doing terribly but this is understandable because they have a history of wanting bigger rbs and Brown always had a preference for Mac which put Wright in a bad spot so he was the one who got the short end of the stick sucks but it is what it is now let's try and make up for it

Is Wright mad at all the other marquee programs that backed off him because of his injuries the last two years or just UM? These local goofballs crack me up.

I understand Wright being a little upset about not getting the attention earlier, but if he truly grew up a Canes fan as has been reported, he will quickly get out of his feelings and commit to the U over the Turds, regardless of how late the Canes offer.

It’s the equivalent of being in a club and you spend all night trying to get Beyoncé attention. She doesn’t notice you until the end of the night and offers to go home with you. Yet you choose to leave with Caitlyn Jenner instead just to “spite her”.

Why are you so sure?

Well, fair question. Obviously, it's not like I know this as fact and don't mean to say I have any inside knowledge of his situation. But here's how I see it.
  • Many thought last year that Walton would come back. He got hurt and still didn't.
  • I personally think Homer is a better all-around back than Walton. So far, his "big game" or "tough opponent" numbers bear this out.
  • As Brock said, Homer will absolutely kill it at the combine. He will test very well.
  • RB's who are draftable talents have a short lifespan and the amount of wear they take demonstrably decreases their effectiveness eventually over time. It's just a sign of the times that very few top level running backs are going to stick around for 4 years.
  • A season and a half as a starter in the ACC is going to be plenty of film for NFL scouts. Walton didn't have much more film than that when he left, and he was injured and still got drafted nicely.
  • Don't forget what a great special teams player, and unselfish player #24 is either.
I am high on Homer, he's going to have a good year and is going to be best served going to the draft after this year if all goes as planned.

I cannot for the life of me understand how clueless this staff can be at the recruiting
