UF commit Shawn Davis reaches out to Miami

CanesInSight has learned that Miami safeties coach Ephraim Banda met with Shawn Davis all of Friday afternoon at Southridge.

Davis is a UF commit who was supposed to enroll last week, but was not able to qualify early. He reached out to Banda this week. Sources tell CanesInSight that Davis' family and DB coach believes that UF has handled the situation poorly, opening the door for the Canes. Davis is likely to take an official to Miami with his family over the next two weeks.

One more important note -- I'm told that Banda has met with administrators at Southridge about Davis' situation, as well as his aunt, who is a UM grad.

Davis may still sign with UF but by this coming out he may just be trying to fan the flames a little from people blowing his social media and phone up....

Nope I've said it numerous times. Kid isn't that good despite our need for DBs. I'm not going to cry about an overrated player not wanting to come here.

Yeah and Mike Harley was shutting down his recruitment. It isn't Pete's job to keep things quiet but this going under the radar would've been best for Miami. With Brandon Powell we didn't know until it was already over.

I assume that someone from the Miami side told Pete he contacted coaches; if they don't want stuff getting out, they should either not tell Pete or tell him what is/isn't ok to share.
