Whats with the change in Campbells interest pete you said not too long ago that we were in the driver seat now we aint what was it?

No one has ever had any real solid info on whete TC was leaning. EVER. Including Pete. He’s kept his cards close to the vest. Never named a leader.

Now some say that means Miami was never in the picture to begin with. That’s one interpretation. Fact is, I don’t know, Pete doesn’t know, you don’t know, I don’t know, maybe he himself doesn’t know.

If that means he’s not coming to Miami then he’s not coming to Miami.

If that means Rumph did a shltty job recruiting him and he’s not coming to Miami, he’s not coming to Miami.

If that means Rumph did a great job recruiting him, but he’s still not coming to Miami, then he’s not coming to Miami.

Or he could end up coming to Miami. Or Georgia. Or Alabama.
As I’ve been saying all along, unless somebody has something solid,

NOBODY.

FŪCKING.

KNOWS.

I agree he hasn’t really shown much which is how every kid should be TBHbut we got pete now saying UGA along with other writers so you gotta think its leaning that way

I love Pete, but Pete’s just guessing based on his sources guesses because his sources don’t know either.

"I will not take no for an answer" - Tyson Campbell's former head coach and alleged mentor.

Un-f'ing-believable

Asante, Surtain, Jobe, Campbell, leave South Florida while we turn to Nigel Bethel.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Wilson (another kid he knew forever), CJ Henderson, Brian Edwards...off the top of my head.

Swags hes been a failure recruiting almost at epic levels. Coaching at a position where YOU HAVE to be a great recruiter. Good guy, but man if he doesnt land Campbell. He is new orleans safety level from yesterday...like he shouldnt even show up for signing day at the office.

No one in the history of college football has ever hired a coach directly from HS who has been this cataclysmic of a failure in recruiting the school he left. It's almost comical at this point. Yet, there are still clowns excusing this nonsense.

Rick thought this guy had juice, and that's why he hired him. You don't hire a HS football coach to coach CBs only with the idea you are bringing in Bill Belichick or Vince Lombardi. He hired him to lock up recruits.

He's done a decent job with the CBs, but so what. So would almost anyone with coaching experience above Optimist football if all they had to do was coach 8 guys within the scheme laid out to him by the DC.

They didnt want samuel because he is small.

Yet we took bandy last year and he ended up being our best corner smh the whole height thing is retarded with coaches

Bandy is bigger than samuel.

Not by a lot, if a kid can play the whole height thing shouldn’t matter, samuels was the best cover corner in SoFl and he wanted to be a cane but we slow played him, he should have been a cane

Lol If Samuel wanted to be a cane he would be. He wanted to rep FSU it's that simple. You think a real UM fan with an offer to play for them, would really say nah im going to FSU??

SMH yea hes going to come a school that a staff doesn’t want him at come on now

I don't get how this man Rumph can *** this up. With everything we have in our favor to land this kid, and to not close is a **** shame.

i know it's almost as if the kid got to choose where he wanted to go

you guys act like rumph told him not to come

Just disappointed that a kid who called Rumph a second father, has family that loves the U, and had been coached by Rumph since optimist decided to go to another school. I like Rumph and think he has done a good job coaching our guys up, but losing a 5* kid like this in your backyard with everything we have in our favor sucks.

you guys are giving the kids too much credit

if any of that.. and i mean ANY of that was actually true what Tyson said then he would have already been a cane.

if he was really a "second father" then he would have signed to Miami on 12/20

Miami has given it everything they have to get him here. the kid must not want to be a cane

He also said the staff doesn’t feel confident either but they felt confident about jobe so hey you never know

Regardless of what happens with these last few recruits, sweating out local talent like this is why you retain a guy like Coley on your staff. Above anything else, he has proven to be an ace recruiter in this area.

No doubt UGA has been telling Tyson Campbell that if they had him on the team they would have won a national championship. Thats tough to argue with, because its not exactly wrong. Their one cb was getting his *** worked all game, and gave up that final TD because he didn't reroute the WR at all. 2 of the 3 schools we are competing with for him were just in the National Championship that either team could have won. And the school that is the biggest threat to us is UGA who was an inch away. I mean all uga has to do is show Campbell tape of their dbs getting worked, and how he could be THE difference maker. Thats tough to battle with.

Having said all that **** all of you, and Pete too, he's going to be a Cane.

Come on u really believe its about wins and losses.....they said win 10 and they will come and thats bs as we did win ten. If its about wins then tc will go to bama

Dude couldn't even get his own son to commit to us, lol.

If we get the right guys putting pressure on the qb than I could play DB next year. I'm waiting for the "but he was wearing the Canes wristband repping the U."

Honestly Rumph knowing the family all those years could of been a negative. Maybe TC and family felt he learned as much as he could from Rumph. Its not a knock, its just what it is. Same reason why Tiger switches swing coaches every so often, you learn what you can and move on.

Let's not hate on Rumph. He is our guy and he is a Cane for life. If we would of been in the playoff maybe TC looks at us differently who knows. I think some of us forget we **** the bed the last 3 games especially the PITT game. We didn't look good at all. We will start winning the battles more when we get closer to competing for a NC. I'll hang up and listen now.

This is the mentality that needs to be gone. Just because you played at the school doesn't give you a free pass to not perform optimally at your position - ie get the recruits you're supposed to. In the 3 years Rumph has been here, this is whom he's missed on:

Year 1: Byrd
Year 2: Edwards, Henderson, and Wilson
Year 3: Samuel, Campbell (trending in this direction)

That's an alarming trend of talent that has left the state for other programs.

Wins and losses have nothing to do with it, it's supposed to be about relationships. Miami overperformed from what it was initially slated to win this year. Our inconsistencies at QB are the main reason for the last 3 losses. The Clemson game was simply a product of our talent level isn't up to par yet.

You could say we crapped the bed all you want. I saw UGA crap the bed on that last defensive play which cost them a title. That team will take a significant step back next year where Kirby's going to be under a microscope.

Probably a dumb question - but are we completely out of it for Surtain?

We needed Campbell....

So then Surtain will follow Campbell to UGA if that's where Campbell winds up?

No, that only applies to us. Everyone else is good enough to stand on their own merits while we continue to get cucked by local kids, even ones with ties to the position coach.

The WEZ proves right yet again....everything they say happens it seems. Good recruiting site just read there recruiting board them boys ahead of the curve. And i hope MR isnt like AG holding onto weaknesses in his staff. If they cant cutt it get rid of them....question is Rumph would go coach at bama and clean up sfla. Its either a coach problem or infastructure problem. We never can pinpoint wtf is going on its why most of us know bags r involved.

On the real rumph may not be a strong recruiter but you dudes are delusional if you think the reason guys aren't coming is because they didn't like the way rumph said they can get early pt.

one of the most revered video posters on this site proclaimed months ago that Miami had nothing to fear from UGA, because Miami doesn’t lose recruits to UGA.
