So I added your bolded names to our existing verbal commits into the 247 Class Calculator just for chits and giggles. Result was 279.

p.s., Jeremiah Smith puts us to 288, which is the same score as our 2023 class.
p.p.s I'm not a star *****. Honestly don't care about our specific ranking other than for momentum purposes, as long as we're closing on the guys we really want on our board (primarily 1a, 1b types). Just thought it noteworthy given how the mopes were out in force only a couple weeks ago.
and the past 3-4 years, 279 points gives you the following ranked class
2023 - 9th best class (we finished with the 7th best class)
2022 - 6th best class
2021- 9th best class
2020 - 7th best class
2019 - 8th best class

As I've said before, Mario will have us in contention every single year for a top 10 class, which is ELITE recruiting. If he wins, we're talking top 3-5 classes, which is another level of talent acquisition!

It is but to actually win it all we will need to start landing some top tier QBs first. Lets see how we fare in the portal after the season...

We will land well inside in the top ten, possibly top 5 if we can close on

1 of the remaining hard pull 5* targets we have on the board
Smith, Wingo, Simmons, Stewart, Breland, Stone (landing 3 of these guys isn't entirely impossible but highly unlikely)

Kam Franklin
Chris Cole
Zaquan Patterson
1 more 4 star OL EPL, Ahfua, etc.
Lawayne Mccoy
Jaylin Heyward

This would be a class with a score close to 290. We pick up an extra 5* or two then we are probably in the top 3/4

Sure, you land a class of 290 and you are top 5, the problem is that the chances of things going perfectly right to do that are as high as the wheels falling off. What we learned this cycle is to not count on anyone til they are in the fold. In late May early June we didnt think Franklin was going to be in this class while the a good combo of Scott, Stone, Stewart, and Breland was likely. I have maintained Mario will get us in the top ten but it will require a good season. My goal is anything north of 270. All those guys you listed above except for maybe Heyward will be a battle.

I think that the staff misread the room was bs, to get the other schools to relax. Notice no new recruiting names popped up. We Gucci

I hear ya. Any kid worth a **** is a battle. Way I see it Jones and Trader were harder pulls than the remaining players on the list besides the big time 5 stars.

Thats why I set em aside and said we just need one of ‘em maybe two, but conceivably with a great year we could get one at each position.

Course we all are feelin ourselves a bit right now and can take a positive outlook

Having a good season goes without saying, we all know we **** the bed and it’s a scramble just to keep the guys already in the fold.

What surprised me is the rest of that list isn’t pipe dream crazy. It is real feasible, dare I say likely, if we don’t embarrass ourselves week after week on the field this fall.

Why do you think Trader and Jones were harder pulls than the remaining players on the list? I don’t agree with that.

Perception vs reality. The reality of their recruitments may have been that they were strong leans our way and their recruitments were lay ups for the staff but…

Trader is a 5 star SoFla wideout with no red flags. We simply haven’t been able to get those types of players inked, hopefully he is the first of many. He committed kind of outta the blue. Only posters on the board with legit connections would have even entertained the possibility that he would commit to us. Two weeks ago you post Trader is a lock and you woulda got flamed by the mope army.

Jones‘s proximity to FSU makes him a really strong pick up. I wouldn’t have bet on us to get his commitment. He lives in a hated rivals backyard, lotsa negativity regarding our program swirling around him all the time.

When I look at the other guys I listed (excluding the harder to pull 5 *) I feel confident we can snag em based on the smoke that’s out there. They aren’t locks or lay ups but we are at the top of their lists at the moment.

Jaylen Heyward (7)
Kamarion Franklin (4)
Zaquan Patterson (1)
Isendre Ahfua (11)
Eddie Pierre Louise (5)
Chris Cole (2)
Aydin Breland (9)
Jeremiah Smith (6)
Ryan Wingo (10)
Lawayne McCoy (3)
Dylan Stewart (8)

My take on commitments from 1 to 11. 1 being most likely IMO. Let’s hope that Mirabal came back refreshed after making a deal with The Pope and Ahfua commits to us.

The thing is that for whatever reason not many schools were after Artavious that much. Plus FSU doesn’t recruit that well under Norvell and we badly need DTs. I give you Trader was a tough pull based on historical returns but it’s definitely not as hard as pulling a top tier DT from SEC country. Ahfua is still a tough pull because of his connections to Utah. Obviously the staff has done a great job there but that is a very difficult pull. Cole isn’t tougher than Trader but an argument is to be made he is tougher than AJ. McCoy is the one guy that I would agree would be the easiest pull but that is complicated because we need to flip him. My point isn’t so much that the guys remaining are tougher pulls but more so they will be battles and just as difficult as Trader and AJ.

When was this?

He must of have really improved on his speed because he was in the 11’s last time I saw it.

But if so I stand corrected,
Nah. Straight line speed doesn't mean you're a corner. Still like him at safety.
