@AUcane they were awesome. I lived ten minutes away and used to go to games all the time. Rudy Harris, the Campbell brothers, Anthony Comer, Steve Marciano, Mark Hartsell, Jay McGillis. It was a tough blue collar town. The Catholic schools and privates sort of raided the town. CM recruits cities like Brockton and Everett now and they are the big dog. Thayer grabbed Okinlola, but t just makes more sense for those kids to go to schools with a bit more structure. Sounds terrible to say but it’s the truth.

I forget the kids name but Miami got a big kid out of Brockton. Anthony something maybe. He didn’t really play.

DP played with a bunch of those guys. Brockton guys were good dudes. DP is an awesome guy, happy his kid is playing at Miami.

CM has dudes. The safety from Prep plays Against CM. Prep is good and CM beats them by 40.
Are you talking about Albert Louis Jean? He was committed to Miami for a while but ended up going to Boston college.

Never mind see it was Anthony Lewis. Interesting article on him. https://www.spokesman.com/stories/1...un-but-a-student-played-nary/?amp-content=amp

If I recall correctly Lewis was part of one of the most heralded and disappointing OL classes in UM history. Jason Budroni and Brad Shirey were part of it. All highly rated. Great guys, all of them, but they amounted to squat on the field. Shirley fought off cancer a bit after graduating from UM I believe.

I wouldn't care if they wanted to bring in 7 OL if the right guy wanted in. OL has held us back for way too long.
Thank you. Our O-line looked like lil boys getting pushed around by Bama, struggling against Appalachian state. Idc if Mario takes 9 linemen. Between the transfers and this class, this group need refinement.

Good for him. Kids up here go to these major schools and the pressure is real. BC doesn’t have media coverage. Miami has beat writers and lunatic fans. You have to be a special individual to make the leap. Especially back then.

Bro, our team is gonna be so freaking big. Even the LBs we recruiting, everybody 6'2. On the OL Tripp is 6'2 or 6'3 but he is a center and quickness is the most important thing to snap and move to double teams. Everybody else is 6'5 and taller. And legit height, no inflated stats. We are gonna look like NFL teams, like Bama and UGA. Will be nice to watch

That's what always stands out to me about the UGA roster Kirby built. Combo of grown *** bodies, especially for the trenches, combined with athletic guys that run like hares. Looks like we're aiming to look like a proper D-1 football team.

Do you expect for the staff to make anymore offers later in the year during the season?

Sometimes players are late bloomers & don’t pick up steam until their Senior year & I’m curious if they’ll be a second round of evals as Senior tape comes available towards Nov-Jan.
I can answer that one from past experience with a couple of kids I knew who signed with Oregon. He's always doing evals. So yes, will be more offers coming as he reassess the board.

Yeah the 08 class was the last big one I remember but it was extremely top heavy

This one is gonna blow that one away from top to bottom it appears
That 08 Class was thrash. Was mostly consist of WR, LB and underside Edge. Highest recruit in that class was Arthur Brown(LB) and he never Play a down here. We sign 4 LB in the top 100 that yr. But no big time players in the trenches

Pretty good odds there will be an announcement before NSD that UM is joining the $EC. So I guess that keeps us in the running.
SEC announce they keeping bay at 16 team. Unless Big 10 make another move or one of the other conferences I don’t think SEC adding anymore teams.

@Cribby @DMoney can you actually speak on the size difference that the Canes are actually recruiting now. I myself always noticed that the Canes would always recruit Linebackers, Dline and Oline that were not physically ready to play right way. ( i.e LBers always were coming into the U at 200lbs). While at Bama they would recruit kids that were coming in at 220. Starting point that trainers were completely different
