I will say I really like what Mario is doing trying to build from the trenches out. Seems like he's really focusing on the OL and DL. The big guys don't always get the recognition they deserve because they're not normally flashy, but that's were the ball games are won.

Hopefully we'll get both Malone and Rose. Would definitely help our interior rotation.

Our backups at LB must be awful for them to still be actively trying to add there. Francisco and Wesley look solid. Chase is coming off injury. I'm hoping we don't see much of Flagg or Ragone anymore next year.

WR is still a mystery and a slight disappointment. We can't seem to get clear cut traction with a top guy. Outside of Franklin I don't see a guy that true moves the need to become a number 1 of our guys. Those Juco guys along with Henderson would not move the needle much and I would lump them in with the other guys we already have.

- Miami is still in the market for a backup QB with the goal of redshirting Jacurri Brown, at his request. If the NCAA moves the redshirt cap from 4 to 6 games, which is on the table, it will make the process a lot easier.

Lol 4 to 6 games? They just really try to ruin the sport on every level don't they?

And again...Why would a QB transfer to be a backup?

Also @DMoney ... I asked Gabby on the other other boar...But by your estimation. Can Eddy Pierre-Luis, Ryan Mack, Dylan Stephenson, Jamari Howard, Ryan Mack, or Booker Pickett commit to UM at this point in time?

isn't the portal closed as of the sunday? or was that a closure to GET INTO the portal? if so, is there a closure date to GET OUT OF the portal?

Jamari Howard and Booker Pickett seem like no brainers from that list.

1. Players had to SUBMIT PAPERWORK by Sunday.
2. Schools can take some time to approve/announce, so you could see some legit "new names" this week.
3. Graduates can move around freely. UM will be having "regular" graduation in a couple of weeks, as well as "summer graduation" this summer.
4. The "GET OUT OF" date is just enrollment. Portal guys don't sign Letters of Intent, so while they can give a "verbal" commitment, they are not done-done until they enroll. Thus, Coach Neon can still recruit every kid in the Portal up to the date of enrollment.

Makes sense.

Just a question, have you heard anything (good or bad) about whether west-coast kids might be "less inclined" to stay at USC/UCLA now that they are joining the Big 10? They will not play as many games on the west coast, and they will be "seeing more of the world" in the Midwest and east coast.

I was just wondering if that is starting to impact the geography of their decision-making, thus causing a "move to the east coast" to become less dramatic?

Nah, I haven't really heard anything about that yet. But personally I think that's the one good and all these seven on sevens in camps that have popped up over the years as it's made kids less concerns when it relates to the going away from home approach
